Lexus Sells 652,000 Vehicles Worldwide in 2015

Of course, I did not count the 1 series and CT in as the 3 series and IS are the main cash cows (ES & RX for Lexus but BMW doesn't have a direct rival).

Lexus Sells 652,000 Vehicles Worldwide in 2015

In comparison, the Germans are approximately 2 million units (+/-) each; that's a big gap in volume. Lexus needs more aggressive marketing and a bigger lineup that includes more entry level models/engines. In Malaysia, the cheapest BMW is the 316i, around RM 209,000 (US$ 47500) but the cheapest...

    The Lexus LC F Megathread

Every F element looks fine on the LC500 but it doesn't need the side vents at all, they'll spoil the smooth surface of that part. Given that the F-engine is the basic on the LC500, Lexus could have a secret weapon in its arsenal. I'm hoping for a twin-turbo V8 with at least 560hp.

Fifth Gear Comparison: The Lexus RC F vs. BMW M4

The next RCF replacement will eat the BMW for breakfast. But Lexus should really start using more composite materials to shed some weight. They could make good use of the carbon fibre know-hows they learnt from making the LFA.

This is a surprisingly good looking render with all the recycled parts of the RX

Lexus Moving to Turbo Engines for Next-Generation High Performance Models

Turbocharging is the only way in the long run. They can actually turbocharge or supercharge their 2GR-FSE to make around 450 - 480hp for the next RC-F/ IS-F. That would be a less expensive and quick way to come out with a "new" engine. In the mean time, they can then develop a 4.0 V8 for...

    July 2015 Auto Sales Thread

Lexus needs to do a few things real quick to bump their sales. 1. Make an entry-level version of the IS, with the 2.0L turbo making around 180hp to battle the 320i and C200, and also to lower the price point of the IS, which would increase sales by thousands monthly. 2. Bring the new RX to...

Spy Shots: Lexus LF-LC Production Prototype Spotted!

Erm, because of the collaboration between Toyota and BMW to produce sports car(s)? Haven't you been following the news? BMW would most probably supply the drivetrain. It's speculation, but aren't what we're talking now all speculations? Hahaha True, the LC500 will not be an F-model (none of...

Spy Shots: Lexus LF-LC Production Prototype Spotted!

I wouldn't mind seeing BMW's 3.0L twin turbo L6 under the bonnet though; that's one great engine. But I seriously hope that the LC500 is not the 5.0L V8 found in the RC-F. It's an "ok" engine, but wouldn't be enough to propel this beast. If Lexus wishes to enter the super-coupe war with...

Spy Shots: Lexus LF-LC Production Prototype Spotted!

I agree! The current Lexus drive trains are quite outdated compared to what the German competitors are offering. This huge coupe needs a turbocharged 3.0L V6 as entry, a turbocharged 4.0L V8 with 400+ hp as range-toppers and a high-output 4.0L V8 with around 550hp for the F-model.

Spyshots: The 2016 Lexus LX Spotted in the Middle East

This looks more like an evolution based on the current LX570, like the current gen LS, instead of a brand new vehicle. Perhaps the accountants can't seem to agree on the budget needed to make a new one. The LX is the very first car in the Lexus lineup that needs an intensive weight loss program.

Lexus Finishes Ninth Overall in 2015 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

"Initial Quality" kinda mean the "feel" you get when you sit in the car right? Who the hell cares bout those super shiny metallic trims and soft touch materials that fall off a year or two later! I want quality that lasts for as long as I own the car, and no one beats the hell outta Toyota...

Lexus LS 500h Trademarked in Europe

If Lexus were to share the engine across the line, a 4-litre V8 seems to make more sense. In the 500h, it'll be naturally aspirated, paired with the hybrid, producing an output of around 400hp. And Lexus can simply slap 2 turbochargers onto the same engine, and it'd become the new engine for...

2016 Lexus RX to be Offered with 2.0L Turbo Engine in Select Markets

The RX270, equipped with a 2.7L L4 engine making 185hp, is ok for normal driving. Given that the 2.0L turbo produces 235hp and 35.7kgm, it should be more than enough for the RX.

Chris Harris Slams Lexus F Performance Brand

Who the hell does this guy think he is? Just because he has got some views for his videos on YouTube, it doesn't mean he is right and people at Lexus are wrong. If he thinks he's that great and noble, why doesn't he start his own company? I'd just tell him to go home, he's terribly drunk!

Possible Lexus NX Inventory Shortage in USA

With the current-gen RX approaching the end of its life cycle, could Lexus allocate the capacity(production shift) to the NX?
