There is a difference between sharing a platform and badge engineering, and if sharing allows the RC to continue, great. I also think that the sharing will be more Supra/Z 4 than Toyota 86/BRZ.
The styling changes may be “minor”, but IMO they make the RX much better looking. The new front end looks more refined and less clunky and the taillights are calmer and no longer look like a Honda CRV. As for the new touchscreen, as long as they keep the remote as an option, I’m OK (I really...
Welcome to the forums and a special welcome to another CT owner and enthusiast. We replaced our 2012 CT with a 2017 (the last year for CTs in North America). It’s almost perfect (more power would be MOST welcome) for a city car. Glad you like yours
Great news for Lexus. I hope whatever it is (and I agree the UX is the most likely candidate) is available in North America at the same time as Europe and Asia.
Even Cadillac never fell this low and we haven’t seen what a mess the spindle grill could add. If it’s not real careful, Lexus could come out of this with a blow to its style/performance image so carefully cultivated over the last decade.
IMO it depends on your priorities - if carrying passengers on a regular basis is needed, the ES for sure. However, for handling and driver experience, it’s the IS and it’s AWD just “seals the deal” for me.
“Like” as opposed to “what is best” (perhaps another poll?) means the LC. Seeing one on the road shows how absolutely gorgeous it is and the power and interior kick it way up front for me.
We got a deep stone gouge on our CT front bumper at a specialist for about $200 and you can’t see where it was fixed at all. For a nice car like a Lexus, any touch up on such an extensive area is going to look sad.
I would love to see an updated (maybe plug-in hybrid?) CT, but it would be a poor seller in North America against the UX. I would say for 95% of buyers the UX is a CT with everything fixed - more room, more power, more style (it’s a crossover) and possible AWD. It should be interesting to see...
I agree completely. The last 10 years have produced wonderful vehicles - even the “old fart” ES has been transformed. I am looking forward to what they will bring to market in the next decade.
