It disgusts me to see Mark Levinson showing up in a Toyota

EVERY INTERIOR SHOT OF THE CAR INTENTIONALLY HIDES THE DOOR HANDLES

I WONDER WHY

:ROFLMAO:

Cool story bro your new "GR GT" has an ES steering wheel, IS vents and interior, LC500 door handles, and a front end aped from the new IS and when it was prototype testing it was covered in Lexus "L" camouflage.

It's actually shameless.

Remember when Akio said the AMG GT was his ideal car to benchmark against?

That car is $150k tops, and even that might be pushing it.

Toyota/Lexus have been pushing so many mixed messages about this car. It's like their marketing team doesn't even know what to call it. All these rumors about it being an LFA replacement, and even Toyota had photos and videos of the car alongside the LFA and 2000GT. Then the reveal comes along, and their presentation clearly shows the "LFA Sport Concept", "GR-GT", and GR-GT3". So, is the GR-GT supposed to be the LFA replacement, or is it not? The presentation gives me the impression that the Sport Concept is the LFA successor.

A big part of my disappointment is that I was expecting an LFA successor. If the GR-GT is not an LFA successor, then I'm ok with it. Maybe even a little bit relieved. If Toyota wants to offer a high-end sports car above the Supra, then I think the GR-GT does that well (assuming it's not ridiculously priced). Is it an LFA successor? No.

The presentation indicated the Sport Concept was the LFA successor. This is where Toyota can either redeem themselves, or totally botch it. If it remains an EV only, then they totally botched it. If they offer the Sport Concept with the hybrid TTV8, then maybe it's a decent car. Is it still worthy of being a LFA successor? I don't think so...not if the engine has a 7k redline and only makes ~650hp.

My opinion is that a TTV8 Sport Concept would be a fantastic LC replacement, even if they didn't use the fancy aluminum structure and just used a new rear drive platform.

The electrified sport concept from a few years ago is what needs to be the LFA successor. With a proper high-revving engine (TT V8, updated LFA V10, LFA V10 + electrification, LFA V10 with twin turbos, etc). That would be a proper LFA successor.

Off topic but slightly related to the topic of LFA and paging @F1 Silver Arrows because this MIGHT intrigue you?

Here's what one member from another forum just shared with us.....
Regarding the HSV (NB1 NSX) I’ve a little story I can share after almost 18yrs.

A small group of bikers from Germany asked me If I could organize them some space to sleep, which I did.
(I was working in the tourism business in these days)

I decided to invite them for dinner, soon one of them disclosed that he’s working in the car industry.
He was a external software developer and testdriver for this Honda, because the project was cancelled, he was able to spill the beans.
Honda had no experience with this kind of transmission, that’s why he was asked to help them.
The Honda would’ve flattened the LFA, 5.5L V10 650hp, 9500rpm, 7SP SMG and transaxle.

As it happens, he once even meet the LFA prototype on the German autobahn, he had to lift at 337 km/h GPS, and he was easily able to outrun the LFA.
And this wasn’t even the topspeed, the target was 340km/h.
If you guys don't recall, Honda had an NB1 NSX in development.

It was cancelled due to the global economic crisis, exactly 1 month before it's scheduled debut at NAIAS.

It was fast and sounded amazing. Honda engineers were targeting a 'Ring record with this car, as well as global expansion into Europe with a lineup of RWD sedans and SUVs to compliment. What a shame none of this materialized and ended up with the weak Honda/Acura brand we have today.

It's a perfect car for Toyota IMO. Glad it wasn't debuted as a reminder lexus afterall Lexus is suppose to be the guinea pig for new ideas and experiment. So, I guess let them rebrand the LCF as the GR. If this debuted as a Lexus I'm sure the backlash would have broke the internet so yeah it's a perfect Toyota that would have been a terrible Lexus.

I was right all along! Anyone still dreaming about Lexus' twin-turbo V8?
This combined system output has me laughing my freaking a** off :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I’m actually losing it lolol
Can we officially admit how pathetic this brand has become now?

The new twin-turbo V-8 was created just for the GR GT.

And there are no plans to share it in other models, either inside or outside the company.

I was right again! Do I just know TMC way too well at this point? Here’s the trick: if it’s good news, it has absolutely nothing to do with Lexus. If it’s crap news, it’s always Lexus. Keep that rule in mind and you’ll never miss.

After all the slapstick stuff we did in earlier comments we could be serious for a moment. Whole purpose and existence of this car is serious take at GT3 racing. This is not LC-F but a dedicated GT3 racer that has the single aim and that's to offer significant upgrade over RC-F GT3 for their existing customers. And that is the sole reason for badge rebrand. All of their stuff when it comes to racing is now unified under Toyota Gazoo Racing (they couldn't have picked up more stupid name than that, what was wrong with Fuji) so no more segregation like Toyota Supra GT500 and then Lexus RC-F GT3 etc. Now all of it is under Toyota GR brand name, not just GR as Toyota PR people wants you to believe: it's Toyota Gazoo Racing. Crown jewel is yet to come and that's to become once again works team in F1.

Sorry yall got a bit sick right when this launched so staying off the electronics. I’ll quickly say if the GT3 wins FIA or IMSA that goes a long way. Pricing is critical. A lot of 200k cars are sitting (amg gts and SL, MC20. 296, artura, maserati coupe). This does have a V-8 where most have a V-6. It certainly isn’t beautiful but seems purposeful with all i’m reading on the cooling aspect for example.

Pricing they gotta nail or it’s nsx 3.0

I also just noticed this car is 2” longer than the LC and 4” longer than the RC F which to me is odd cause in person it seemed smaller. Maybe it’s the low ride height

I wonder will a hypercar come back

That one should be closed in a safe… Lost opportunity of the century, and the brand still suffers from lack of direction…

Hey guys are you stoked for this unbelievable amazing futuristic interior?

1765308858028.png

Every purchase of a GR GT or LFA comes with a free T-shirt with a deepfake of YOU! the customer being lucky enough to get ***** by Mr. Morizo himself.

That's right! And he gets to keep a copy for himself!

Thanks for the ping @Gor134.

Yeah, and look where Acura is now... they're a shadow of their former selves. Complacency and lack of gravitas to do big things seems to be a common theme with Acura and now... Lexus. The parallels are astounding to see.

Lexus has the global market. Acura is stuck to the US market. Similar parallels but Lexus will never go the ways of Acura fully
