I realize I haven't been a bastion of positivity lately, but this is far worse than I expected.

Will elaborate more tonight but just when the bar is on the ground, somehow we should have known they would take out the shovel and start digging.

Now I'm really curious as to what you have to say...

I'll start with something positive. The new LFA looks stunning, and while it would have been great with a TTV8 hybrid IMHO, I'm happy the car is here.

Quick thoughts for now:

GR GT: Design is pretty mild with hints of "big S2000" and Dodge Viper. It's not as aggressive or good looking as I hoped. The specs are entirely unimpressive: 641hp+, 626lb-ft+ of torque, 3,900lbs. It's clear this 4.0L V8 was developed for Lexus 7-8 years ago because that's the timeframe in which it would have been competitive. For the 2027 model year these numbers are "mid" and not nearly class leading, and for a car that's rumored to cost $225k-$250k? A "brand new" twin-turbo V8 engine with a hybrid system is churning out less than 650hp? The Corvette team is laughing right now, at half the price, if not a third. Entirely underwhelming and I have no idea what Toyota is thinking. Most people were expecting 750hp+ out of this powertrain and now it doesn't even eclipse a CT5-V Blackwing. For the car that Toyota advertised and teased at being the newer, better LFA, over the course of 15 years, we got 80hp? I'm speechless.

LFA II: Nothing about this car is "LFA." This car debuted four months ago under a completely different name on the other side of the world, and now they wheel the same car on stage in Japan and say, "Oh yeah, now this is an LFA." I am blown away. It's wild how the first LFA embodied the best of Lexus, and the new one is the purest example of the downfall of this brand: an afterthought with no passion or strategy. I don't know what else to say. I'll give credit where it's due: the design is absolutely gorgeous but we knew that in August when it debuted. This was supposed to be the LFR, and now to call it an LFA is a disgrace.

The GR GT nor the LFA II are anything like the 2010-2012 LFA, which will always be the greatest performance car Toyota ever built. I am so underwhelmed and disappointed with the GR GT that I would rather have an LC 500, which is an iconic Lexus flagship car built to the highest standard, and that has quite frankly been peerless during its reign.

LFA > LC 500 > RC F > GR GT if you want my honest opinion. You can tell me RC F and LC 500 are old and past their prime and you'd be right, but relative to their periods and specs, the GR GT isn't better looking or enough of an improvement for me to want it more.

It also can't be understated how underwhelming the specs are for a car that is supposed to launch an entire new brand, that centers on performance. Toyota understood this 40 years ago when they launched the LS400 to debut the Lexus brand - they pulled out all the stops because they could not afford the car failing, which would effectively kill the brand. The car has to be amazing and revolutionary in some way. In many ways, it had to surpass the LFA which already had the cushion of being made for Lexus as an established brand. Instead this just feels like something that should have made its debut at least 5 if not 10 years ago.

These are your "quick" thoughts? Oh boy I'm looking forward for more.

Why does Lexus actually believe people are stupid enough to spend over 200k on an electric supercar?

Using the name “LFA” on this car is worse than swearing

Well at least we got LC-F under a new badge in both worse exterior and interior for higher price than what actual LC-F would have cost back in the day.
