I've literally always said Infiniti should've just been a Skyline GTR Coupe, Sedan and SUV trio all with the same base powertrain and AWD systems. Brilliant idea if that's the way they go with it.

  • INFINITI's flagship SUV reimagined with tuned VR38DETT GT-R NISMO engine
  • Statement-making design inspired by GT-R T-Spec Takumi Edition, including GT-R brakes and custom suspension upgrades
  • Project vehicle showcases the depth and capabilities of INFINITI's performance engineering

The INFINITI QX80 R-Spec build features a GT-R sourced 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that has received extensive modifications to be capable of 1,000 horsepower, with custom turbochargers, intercoolers, exhaust manifolds and an upgraded fuel system. Selecting a GT-R engine as a donor for this build was a direct nod to the lineage of the standard twin-turbo V6 in QX80, which is directly related to and incorporates numerous engineering innovations from GT-R.

QX80 is the closest thing from Japan to match Range Rover clean and subdued exterior design. This is a future classic. It looks like its from 2025 yet it has some oldschool bits to it integrated properly.

While not a fan, the Q80 is a serious step up from Infiniti. They were always a bargain bin brand, using materials often worse than mainstream economy cars, and it's surprising to see them offer real premium quality materials and options that rival the top European brands.

Now do a really good looking luxury sedan with the same powertrain.
Do it. GTR the entire lineup.

The Nissan Dune Patrol2 is the ultimate, ultra-comfortable support vehicle for the most extreme off-road events. Paying homage to the Nissan Patrol's desert racing history, Dune Patrol takes the rugged capability of PRO-4X to the next level with a custom long-travel racing suspension, widened fenders and prototype NISMO 18-inch AXIS beadlock wheels wrapped in 37-inch Yokohama GEOLANDAR M/T G003 tires.

An array of custom and prototype NISMO Off Road parts improve durability against hazards while supporting off-road racers. These include high clearance bumpers with a swing-out spare tire and traction board mount, frame-mounted rock sliders, skid plates, off-road lighting, a roof rack and a cat-back exhaust system. For long adventures away from resupply points, the Dune Patrol also features storage and mounting solutions both inside and out for all essential gear such as roof-mounted storage cases, MOLLE panels for fuel and water canisters, an on-board air compressor system, and even a long-range radio antenna.

With the upcoming Xterra revival rumors, it would be a big missed opportunity for Infiniti to not make their version of it to compete against the GX. TMC is now at their most vulnerable point with the V35 blunder so Nissan should fully take this opportunity to take market share in high value BOF products. Hopefully the VR35DDTT is more reliable.

I think it's been confirmed there will be 5 vehicles based on the new BOF platform (Frontier, Pathfinder, QX60, Xterra, and an Infiniti version of the Xterra).
