Imagining a 2014 Lexus IS Convertible

The RM Design Blog has created a rendering of the next-generation Lexus IS convertible:

The shape of the new IS appears to translate much better into a convertible — the flatter, wider trunk should make for a more natural folding roof.

(The bigger question is: Will Lexus be releasing an next-generation IS convertible? There’s not much in the way of rumors at this point, but I imagine things will be become clearer once the expected mid-size coupe is released.)

My guess is that a drop-top will be based on the RC.

Lexus would do the other manufactor a favor not to bring a RC convertible to the market.

I hope that "rump" of the trunklid does not return. I know it's to fit the hard top, but maybe try soft top like the A5 or at least make it fit better like in the old 3, now 4 series convertible

The IS doesn't need a convertible. The RC and future LF-LC do. BD

I think this looks great; nice and clean. Makes me like the Spindle design even more. I cant wait to see what the next ISF is going to look like. :)

i love it even more if they made an automatic screen for wind cancelation for 4 people to enjoy not 2
