Ahead of its official 2025 announcement from Lexus, Car and Driver has shared minor changes for the GX in the upcoming model year.
A power-adjustable steering column is now standard across the lineup, and all GX models come with memory settings for the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and outside mirrors. Most interesting out of all is that the Overtrail and Overtrail+ trims will add a one-inch suspension lift for better obstacle clearance, as well as a bank of auxiliary switches. The price of the 2025 Lexus GX is expected to have a slight increase and start around $65,000 and go up to $82,000 depending on trim and options.
The GX550 offers two distinct personalities: a luxurious on-road experience and a formidable off-roading powerhouse. For those who expect to spend most of their time on paved roads, the Luxury+ trim is the ideal choice. It enhances the GX550’s interior with high-end features like semi-aniline leather upholstery, 10-way adjustable front seats with massage, heating, and ventilation, illuminated door sill plates, and second-row window shades. This trim also comes with the larger 22-inch wheels, which fill the GX’s wheel wells and add to its upscale aesthetic.
On the other hand, the Overtrail+ trim, priced similarly, delivers a more rugged look and significantly improved off-road capability, though it sacrifices the third row of seats and some of the luxury amenities found in the Luxury trim. If you’re planning outdoor adventures that involve challenging terrain, the Overtrail+ is certainly worth considering.
