Updated Lexus ES Spied

An updated Lexus ES was spied in China sporting a new rear end design with revised tail lamps and Lexus’ signature horizontal LED bar, as well as a front end with new headlight and bumper designs.

This might be a Chinese domestic-market only model, or the current generation ES could go through another refresh with an extended lifecycle. Earlier in October, illustrations of a revised ES interior and exterior appeared online and they previewed the changes we see in these spy shots. Of note, it looks like the updated ES will also have a much larger (perhaps 14″?) infotainment screen on the revised center console.

We should know more about this updated ES soon and will share additional details as they are available.

Glad that's it's not a BEV only ES. It appears that it's more of a refresh to extend this current life cycle with revised tail lamps that now have a rear light bar, LEXUS spelled out on the trunk and refreshed headlights. The rest of the body still looks like the current generation.

That is what happened in the recent generational change of the Camry: update the front and rear fascias, update the dashboard and infotainment screen, change the greenhouse around the upper rear door cutout, and update the powertrain.

We now have seen a glimpse of the front and rear fascia of the ES, we know of likely changes to the powertrain from trademark filings; but we jave not yet seen glimpses of the profile and any changes to the greenhouse, and we have not seen glimpses of the interior and dashboard.

We may see more spy shots of a revised ES leading up to the latest round of autoshows starting in November.
