Next-Generation Lexus GX Coming!

Lexus has released the first images of the next-generation GX SUV just two days after teasing the upcoming TX crossover, making this the busiest Lexus news week in years. The headlight image shows a chunky exterior design in line with expectations, and the rear shot shows the now-standard LEXUS type logo across the trunk deck.

Considering the timing of this week’s teasers, it’s a safe bet both vehicles will debut side-by-side — buckle up, Lexus fans, things are about to get exciting!

I am more excited for this than the TX tbh. This looks promising! Not saying the TX doesn't, but this looks like what the GX should have been all along. A body-on-frame SUV targeting a G Wagon and LR Defender.

Also, makes me super excited for the next 4Runner!

Next gen? Or just another facelift? I have had enough disappointments with "new" GX already

Look up Toyota Foretuner Thailand. The 4Runner is called something different in every country. The new Foretuner has been on sale in Thailand for about 5 months now. Kind of a preview to our new 4Runner that's coming.

The TX and the GX will have completely different duties. Up until now, the GX was our off road sport utility truck that also had to wear a different hat to fill our 3rd row people mover duties. With the TX coming out to be our "minvan" and do a better job of moving soccer kids and their equipment, the GX becomes free to be our cool, image conscience, full off road truck with touch of class and snobbish nose upturn (ie Defender, G Wagon, Range Rover, Bronco, TRD PRO of any model). The TX and GX will have a completely different buyer which opens up a bigger market for Lexus overall and give a better choice to our Lexus consumers that will fit their needs better than having to settle for a compromise. I am really happy with Lexus corporate decision to bring out the TX. It was a bit late and the first attempt was really bad (RX-L), but at least it's coming. Now, just bring out the LC-F as the finale LC500 version to say farewell to the best Lexus vehicle for the masses (LF-A was not for the masses) and a fat middle finger to the electric cars that will be replacing it. The GX will be the next "MUST HAVE" car for the off road enthusiasts even if you never take your nice truck off road (never saw a G Wagon on a trail even though it can conquer a small unpaved country). I am excited for the new GX! I think Lexus will have a full TRD Pro like version from the factory. I might have to trade in my 2019 Range Rover Autobiography that I absolutely love but never take off road! Go to your local Lexus dealerships now and put a deposit on the GX. If they don't have a waiting list yet, have them start one and be first on the list. Exciting times are coming back at Lexus!!

The Fortune is unrelated to the 4Runner. The Thai market refresh is based on last year's Hilux refresh. IMV vehicles have different release schedules as F platform vehicles. In fact it will get a BEV truck way earlier than the F platform.

The Fortuner and the 4Runner are, and have always been, completely different models. The Fortuner is also outdated by now, and it should, too, receive a full redesign soon.

Exactly. I think this is a great move for Lexus. It makes me wonder if the GX will still even have 3 rows, and they'll just allow the TX to be the only 3-row crossover/SUV (minus the LX). Then the GX becomes a 2-row body-on-frame SUV designed for the off-road AND luxury enthusiasts.
