2023 Lexus RX Production Begins in Canada

Production of the 2023 Lexus RX has begun at the TMMC plant in Cambridge, Ontario. Every variant of the crossover will be built at the facility — from the press release:

“Producing the all-new 2023 Lexus RX 350, RX 350h and RX 500h for the North American market reflects the continued trust that Toyota Motor Corporation has in our world-class Canadian team members, our commitment to quality, and our customer focus,” said TMMC President, Frank Voss.

We have some photos of the first models being built:

Lexus Canada uploaded a video showing the production line, this is just the raw footage but it may be of interest:

In 2003, TMMC became Toyota’s first facility outside of Japan to produce Lexus vehicles, and has since assembled more than 1.5 million Lexus RX vehicles. Today, as well as the RX and RX hybrid, TMMC builds the Lexus NX and NX Hybrid, as well as the Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid.

I’ve toured the plant twice as a Lexus owner and it is really quite remarkable. Everything is so well organized and clean. If you ever get the chance to do a tour I strongly urge you to take advantage of it.
