The door trim was inspired by origami, and were originally rendered in paper by a skilled fabric artisan. The finished pattern is three-dimensional, and repeats the Lexus “L” motif in intricate detail.
For the glass accents, Lexus relied on the skills of Kiriko glassworkers to design the original template. This design was then reproduced using advanced glass production technology that scans and digitizes every facet. Finally, the glass was treated using reinforcement technology to ensure the panel is strong enough for a car interior.
