Lexus RC F Finishes First in Class at 24 Hours of Nürburgring Race


The #36 Lexus RC F from GAZOO Racing & TOM’S Racing have finished 24th overall and first in the SP-Pro class at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring this weekend. Congratulations to drivers Takeshi Tsuchiya, Tatsuya Kataoka, Kazuya Oshima, and Takuto Iguchi for the victory!

Unfortunately, the #188 Lexus RC driven by Takayuki Kinoshita, Takamitsu Matsui, and Naoya Gamou experienced a drivetrain issue and was unable to complete the race. It does not appear that Akio Toyoda was one of the final drivers of the sidelined RC, though he did drive the track before the race.

This year’s day-long race was marked by two historic events — first was the massive hailstorm that pushed back the race by four hours, and more importantly, the overall winner was decided in the very last lap:
