Lexus Releases Mysterious Video Teaser for Upcoming Detroit Vehicle Debut

Lexus has posted a pitch-black teaser video for their upcoming vehicle debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week:

This is the sound of an adventure starting. 1/11 – 12:45pm EST. Click the link in our bio. #NAIAS

A video posted by lexususa (@lexususa) on

The sound could be a car door opening and closing, or a hood being shut. Why Lexus chose this as a significant teaser remains unclear.

The video was posted on Instagram and Vine, and both social networks loop video endlessly — the actual video file is just a single door closing. Rumors for the last month have pointed toward a production version of the LF-LC concept shown at the Detroit show in 2012.

Somehow, I think, it will be a Lexus Future Large Coupe.

It's definitely not the new LS or the RC convertible, it has to be the LC. Be patient Wade!

It might be the new LS because the LC has frameless windows, because when closing the door there should be a window winding back up sound.

Due to the spy shots we have seen, I think it's the LC. The RC Convertible is another option it could be but we still would have seen some sort of spy shots of it. Even though it is just an RC, Lexus would still have to test it. We also haven't seen any LS spy shots so it can't be that either. Here's to the LC (and hopefully, later, an LCF).

Although most indicators point towards the LC, could the sound in the teaser be related to a foldable roof?
