The most funny thing is the fact that until some weeks ago someone here was complaining about the RC F sound...lol...I'd like to read right here a sorta of Mea Culpa from him.

That was me. It still doesn't do anything for me. Sounds like any cheap American muscle car. I prefer a more exotic sound. But to each his own.

V8 sounds like a V8. It does not make a difference whether it is a European or American V8. Even the 8400 rpm M3 V8 with an aftermarket exhaust sounds similar, but screams harder at high rpms. By exotic, you mean a flat plane crank V8, which is not what this engine is. It revs much higher than American muscle V8 so it sounds higher pitched at high rpms.

You have heard the Jag and Aston V8s right?? A little exhaust tuning goes a long way!

lol there is no other v8 right now that screams like this engine at higher rpm
I don't know of any current model Detroit V8's that have this glorious roar.

I love the sound of the V8s, too, as with my IS-F. Only problem is at altitude. Though, I have witnessed an IS-F take out a 335is (IS-F got the carlength jump but gap didn't change too much), at about a mile high. Most folks are around sea level so this is not an issue. The BMW fanboys had a heyday with this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiT4aaEXN5o . At sea level, the game would be different. Of course, the IS-F drive train is basically "old tech" now, to be fair. They aren't even made anymore.

Even tho power-to-weight ratio is similar between the two, the M235 doesn't compete w/the ISF, it competes against S3, CLA45 and the likes.

It sounds very similar to the Maserati Granturismo S wich has a V8 4.2, and I can tell you for sure since I heard that engine lots of times: I live close to Modena.

Can definately tell it's related to the IS-F, it's much raspier though. Will reserve judgement till I hear it in person. Test drove the M3/M4, admittedly not hard, it's a mighty motor but it does not sing. IMO, the outgoing (sad face) 6.2 liter AMG Engine is the benchmark when it comes to V8 engine accoustics. That Jag F-Type V8 sounds pretty wonderful too.

No, I think the E92 M3 with an Akrapovic exhaust is the benchmark when it gets up to 8400 rpm. I have heard it in real life and no other car in its class could compare to that. Hopefully, the RC-F will sound as good as that.
It sounds a bit too raspy and high pitched.
The Yamaha tuned ISF has a much smoother and deeper V8 rumble to it.

You are wrong. Yamaha never tuned the IS-F exhaust. Yamaha only built an intake with a secondary routing that opens up at 4000 rpm. RC-F on the other hand was tuned by Yamaha according to the chief engineer.
RC-F is a higher revving engine than the IS-F (6800 rpm vs 7300 rpm) and it is more free revving with lighter internals so it actually sounds better.

Uhhhhh.......there was nothing "high-pitched" about it!
