No. Just no. Lexus doesn't need a niche vehicle like what BMW (Gran Turismo/GranCoupe) and Merc (CLA) are doing.
    H
Well in Europe or any other countries people don't really even buy the BMW 650i Gran Coupe or the M6 Gran Coupe, most of them just go for the normal 650i coupe or even the M6 Coupe. On the other hand in Middle East MOST of M6 owners have the Gran Coupe not the normal coupe That's why I thought in Middle East if they made the RCF Gran coupe it would defiantly sell more than the normal RCF!! But I agree with you in certain things!!

You're right. But if you look at what Lexus is doing right now, they're moving away from what the German Trio are doing. They make their own way to be known. And I think that's why Lexus is getting their unique popularity.
H
WOW!! Looks beautifully rendered IMAGINE RCF Grand Coupe!! it would defiantly be sold out in Middle-East!

No. Lexus does not need such cars niche cars. The only one I can imagine is a ultra luxury crossover, not SUV.

Honestly, why? We all know the RC line is essentially a dedicated two-door coupe spin-off of the IS line. Why even bother photoshopping a four door variant? Then you just have an IS again lol.

Because the big players in the game - Benz, BMW and Audi - do it. And if Lexus wants to be taken seriously as an aspirational, emotional brand they better follow the German model.

I really hope Lexus goes into additional niches in the market. This rendering is amazing. Why? let me tell you one thing, if you go over the sales figures of Lexus, BMW & Mercedes in the US last year you would see that they are close. Given the fact that BMW & Mercedes are having bigger line-ups, it would definitely mean that Lexus sales would surpass these 2 if they start introducing new models. Of course these models should be 1. profitable, 2. should not interfere with the current line-up sales. So yes, I hope I see an RC grand coupe.

Honestly I hope Lexus does not waste time in this segment...!! Refreshed GS's & LS's are in the works.. And the LF-LC.. Also a true gear head knows what a Coupe is.. The whole 4 door coupe or Grand Coupe names are just plain silly.

Refreshed, as in LS? Absolutely invalid. One needs to be careful with how they label (or rather mislabel) actions taken by brands/companies in revising a vehicle. The next LS is not going to be a "refresh" in the least. Describing its changes, in relation to the moderate ones the L10 GS should receive mid-cycle, is highly incorrect and misleading. A revolutionary redesign is not really called a "refresh" or a facelift. The 2013 LS or 2016 GS would be described as a "refresh", since that implies moderate and not substantial generational changes to a product.

Ok refreshed GS / redesigned LS... I'm pretty sure my opinion came across correctly.. 4 door RC is a waste of time & resources..

I wouldn't say it'd take away from the GS. It's smaller. If anything, it'd take away from the IS sales. But it looks great. Take away the grilles in the rear number and we have a winner.

I honestly believe that they may do something we don't expect here... Lexus stated that they're refusing to make a sub-$30k car and will rather create more expensive, luxurious cars. Now let's see what the competition has: Mercedes SLS (four door S-Class coupe, truly based on E-Class), Mercedes CLS, Audi A7, and the BMW 6 - series. Truly I believe that they may make either a GS based four door coupe, or an LS based four door coupe which I'd expect less than a GS based coupe. I would love to see a rendering of both a GS and LS four-door coupe.

That was never proposed. The only thing in that supposed configuration, appeared to be L10 based.

I would buy it. It looks 3 times better than the new IS, because it looks more seriously. The lines from the RC are more clear and sleek. That is how a Lexus should look.

I think the person that did this rendering should also produce a rendering with the LFA sporting the new spindle grille. What do you guys think?

I do think this looks great (although the rear door glass shape is a bit awkward) but if Lexus were to make a sleek coupe-like sedan then they'd likely base it off the GS so it'd be more competitive with cars like the A7, 6-series gran coupe, and CLS (and I highly doubt they'd call it a 4-door coupe). This would yield higher profit margins and would allow Lexus to have a stylish sedan that would help with their sporty aspirations. I can imagine a Lexus CS350 or something like that starting at about 60k. I do think Lexus should consider making a really eye-catching sedan so people on the road go "wow now that's a gorgeous Lexus," which would help drum up both sales and respect.

Why not both? The 4-series Gran Coupe and the A5 Sportback could use some competition too.

This is what the new IS should have looked like. Not with the awkward proportions it has now...lol.
