Imagining a Lexus NX Crossover Coupe

Photochopper Theophilus Chin has removed two doors from the Lexus NX, creating a crossover coupe — here’s another rendering from the back:

Three Door Lexus NX

The obvious parallel would be the Range Rover Evoque Coupe, an eminently stylish but essentially impractical two-door version of their super-successful crossover.

It may be a model that Lexus will never make, but that doesn’t stop it from being interesting — what do you think?

I think the Evoque looks great, but it hasn't taken off in the U.S., and shouldn't be anyone's marketplace success model..... BD

I think the Evoque has sold over 100k vehicles in each of the two years it's been released. I'd say Lexus would be delighted with that outcome for the NX.

They sell maybe 1k a month here in The States. Lexus needs to show them how to sell some cars! BD

Lexus sold 103,920 RX in 2013 so they're already delighted but of course they would be delighted twice if the NX would sell equally. By the way, in this render looks great and I wouldn't mind to see the NX in this coupe variant.

I know this is just a photoshop, but Lexus, please don't join the German with their useless niche models. Just build the standard models better looking and exciting, nobody will need the overpriced niche cars.

Coupe crossovers are as pointless as the "g" in "lasagna." Lexus needs to focus more on sportier cars like a GSF, ISF, LC/LCF...not this useless coupe crossover. It looks good, yes, but it is not needed.

I'm imagining a 2015 Lexus IS250, with a 250 HP turbo-4, and a manual transmission...... BD

In this case I'd prefer a Lexus CT250t.
