Good morning, and welcome to the all-new, all-improved Lexus Enthusiast!
This eighth (!!!) redesign has been a long time coming, and takes care of a number of longstanding issues — but before we get into that, you may have to refresh the site. I recommend either emptying your cache or simply holding down the shift key and pressing the refresh button in your browser.
With that out of the way, let’s outline some of the new features:
- Lexus Enthusiast is now smartphone friendly. This was the single biggest reason for the redesign, and should be a major improvement over the old site. The site is stripped down functionally, but it should make it easier for you to check the site away from your computer.
- If you’re using any modern web browser, go ahead and resize the browser window — see how the site resizes itself to fit the window? I’ve built Lexus Enthusiast with a responsive design, meaning that it’s accessible from nearly any device — smartphones, tablets, you name it — except for anyone running Internet Explorer 8 and under (you should really consider upgrading to a modern browser anyway).
- I’ve also completely rebuilt the liveblogging functionality, so it will be much easier to bring you live updates from Lexus events — you’ll see the new system in action in a couple hours, when I visit the SEMA show for the debut of the GS F Sport.
Just like any large-scale redesign, there’s bound to be issues that pop up here and there. I did my best to find them before launch, but I’m sure there’s problems that I missed. If you spot anything that doesn’t look right, please let me know by email or just leave a comment.
Finally, thanks to everyone for your patience while I finished up this massive project — it was a major undertaking, and now that it’s (mostly) finished, things can finally get back to normal.
Off to SEMA!
