Lexus GS 350 AWD in Black [Update]

Also debuting at the Frankfurt Motor Show was the All-Wheel Drive version of the 2013 Lexus GS 350, which was on display in Starlight Black:

Interesingly, the GS 350 AWD will have 312 hp (317PS), giving it a minor power boost over the RWD GS 350 and its 306 hp (310PS). However, this doesn’t make for a faster car — the 2013 GS AWD will take 6.3 seconds to hit 100km/hr (62mph), .2 seconds slower than the previous generation AWD GS.

Update: According to sources at Lexus USA, it looks like the U.S. GS 350 AWD will have the same horsepower as the RWD model.

Update 2: Turns out that the above GS is not Obsidian, but Starlight Black. No word yet on the color availability.

All other specifications stay roughly the same, check them out after the jump.

You need to clarify your post. Did you mean to say 0-100 km/h or km? Why doesn't help in the 0-100 km/h time? The outgoing model did it in 7.2 sec. Or did you mean the 2013 GS RWD did 6.3sec? Why call it outgoing? Also, shaving 0.2 sec is pretty decent to me considering the additional weight of AWD. Very confusing, your post needs revision.

These number posts can be confusing -- the current GS AWD does 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds, the new GS AWD does it in 6.3 seconds. I've revised the post, hopefully it makes more sense now. :-)

I notice why does the reverse lights on each side look different? One is normal, the left side has 3 circles, look like LED's or whatever it is, anyone catch that?

I lost 21 hp when I went from RWD to AWD in my LS. So I am very happy and hopeful that the next AWD LS will not lose hp to the RWD model. On another note, the more I see the GS the more I like it. A question to those who were lucky enough to see the car in person. Does it really look as great as we see in the photos and videos?

Black is good! The video tour is good! Supposedly, the handling is good! The car just needs to be the fastest automatic car again!!! P.S.: I love how Lexus is so sneaky with the leather. On top of the the dash, there's random places with and without leather.

I love the new steering wheel! But I can't really picture it in the LS or the ES cause it's too sporty. I just saw pictures of the new Yaris and it has the same steering wheel!

Why doesn't Lexus increase the speed limit, especially when the new GS has received significant improvements in performance ? At least 250kph should be good

I am pretty sure that's a wrong figure. Maybe it's the limited top speed of the North American version converted to km/h. Pretty sure the GS will do 250 km/h on the Autobahn just as the current model does. In this class the top speed is considered an important spec of the vehicle, especially in Germany.

Most if not all luxury carmakers, not just Lexus, have lower electronically-capped top speeds for their AWD models versus their RWD variants. It usually comes down to the speed ratings of the tires they use. The more all-purpose all-season performance tires on AWD models tend to have lower speed ratings than the summer ultra-high performance rubber on RWD versions.

Honestly, I am not impressed by new design, look too confusing with new ES, although not to the lexus owners. especially both front and rear lamps look too similar shape with ES, i was hopping to see slip front lamps like prev one, also tail like 2nd gen, but oh well
