The 1955 Lexus F-100

It doesn’t look much like a Lexus, but this restored 1955 Ford F-100 owes a great deal to the LS400. Owners Terry & Terri Altman used the ‘91 Lexus LS400 1UZFE engine, along with its steering column and instrumentation in their restoration.

As for why, here’s a quote from their interview with Custom Classic Trucks:

They remarked that it was the company’s slogan that made a huge impact on their decision to install something other than a Ford or Chevy V-8 under the hood.

“The Passionate Pursuit of Perfection” is what solidified the decision to install the ‘91 Lexus V-8. With its enormous wiring harness and several computers, it was a formidable mechanical challenge in itself. The slogan also describes the considerable effort Terry has invested in the construction of his beautiful black ‘55 F-100 in his attempt to make it modern but not radical.

The result of their hard work is an amazing meld of old & new, with the dependability of a Lexus engine & cachet of an exceptional classic truck. This was a very smart and unique approach to restoration, and is bound to be a vehicle that the Altmans can enjoy driving for years to come.

I have a Nissan Titan with a 5.6 V8. I have a 55 F100 w a351C. If the titan gets wrecked, the drivetrain goes into the f100. I decided that in 04 when I bought it.

Lots of motors can handle 1000hp with mods. I have a 92 240sx so I was hunting through You Tube and came across a 240sx with the KA24DE engine in it (the same as mine) and it was running around 1050hp and that is a 4 cyl. So don't tell me that 1000hp is a good reason to throw out a perfectly good Ford motor and put in a Lexus engine. Why not just put a 1000hp 4cyl Nissan engine in it? I am not a whining pain in the butt like most auto enthusiasts. I don't care what engine is in what but hearing you all fight about it made my day! WHY IS EVERYONE WHO IS INTO CARS JUST LIKE A 12 YEAR OLD BOY?!?! IT'S NOT YOUR TRUCK SO SHUT UP ABOUT IT PLEASE!!!
