Lexus Europe have reported their 2011 first quarter sales — here it is, broken down (mostly) by model:
Model | Sales |
CT | 2,199 |
IS | 1,514 | GS (including GS Hybrid) | 257 | GS Hybrid | 143 | LS (including LS Hybrid) | 135 | LS Hybrid | 69 | RX (including RX Hybrid) | 3,758 | RX Hybrid | 2,451 | Other models | 1,695 |
Total 1st Quarter Sales | 10,254 |
(Lexus Europe is made up of all Western, Central and Eastern European countries including Turkey and Russia as well as Israel and a number of Central Asian markets (Armenia, Azerbaijan, East Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan)).
Now these may be small numbers compared to the U.S. market, but the 10,254 sales represent a 43% increase over 2010. This is mostly on the CT 200h, which has instantly accounted for 28% of sales and helped Lexus Europe set a new all-time monthly sales record of 6,519 units. Looks like Lexus’ goal of building a hybrid hatchback for the European market has been an early success — it’s certainly been a fantastic launch so far.
