There are a number of different approaches -- different perspectives -- to looking at this question, especially in light of the number of follow-up what-if questions raised by @internalaudit. They all lead to the same conclusion that what was proposed is not viable.

There is the perspective of loss of control and loss of traction, lengthening the stopping distance, rather than gaining traction and shortening the stopping distance, which was what @internalaudit wished for.

There is the perspective of the risk of mechanical failure due to the sudden transfer of forward momentum energy.

There is also the perpective of the risk of injury -- perhaps severe or even fatal -- again due to the sudden transfer of forward momentum energy.

These are all possible perspectives when approaching this issue.
