Toyota China achieved sales of 1.62 million in 2019. Today, Toyota China announced that its sales target for 2020 is 1.76 million, an increase of about 8.64%. At the same time, Toyota and Lexus currently have 11.158 million vehicles in China. This year is also the first year that Toyota has started selling BEVs in China.

At least we get the better looking BEV.

Since CHR has received a facelift, is there any information regarding CHR/IZOA BEV update? Not mechanical update, just to go with the latest update styling wise.

The appearance of the official sales will not change, because they have filed the specific parameters of this car with the government.

They just keep growing despite shrinking market size and worsening economy. Avalon is now a solid 10k+/mo car. It took so little time to build up recognition of the new model. In just a month they are selling more Avalon here than they did in U.S. in six months last year (this year is way worse).

They have almost 20 models coming in the next three years! Almost every plant is being expanded along with new plants under construction.

In addition, Toyota's Chengdu plant has completed all Prado production last month and started to carry out production line transformation. Avalon will be produced here later next year, with an annual output of 100000 units.
This also means that except the Coaster, Toyota's production in China has totally shifted to the FF platform cars.

Avalon is exploding in popularity with over 12k in July. They are adding the XLE and Touring trims (US equivalent) to the 2.5 this month which should further boost sales.

With the Crown and Prado now formally out of production, price of these traditional FR/BOF products are soaring. The remaining inventories carry close to 30% markup. And we are now seeing the similar crazy low depreciation seen in some USDM trucks. The Crown retains 50% value after 12 years (!) while the Prado depreciates by just 10% for a 5 year model.
