Not gonna lie, I am intrigued. I know it'll be just like the Highlander and Gateway (I think that's what Subaru calls it), but the front teaser is very GX-like. Might be cool to have a beefier, rugged looking electric SUV.

EDIT: I just realized this actually could be the GX550h (the GX Hybrid). Lexus recently put in trademarks for it. Thought it was the TZ. Oops.

Just a render, but with the reveal coming soon, thought I'd share. Not hating this render, not gonna lie.

In all honesty, this reveal was a bit of a relief compared to all the bad news Lexus has given us recently (LS death, F death, Lexus Racing death, etc.). I think this looks better than the Toyota and Subaru versions. The GX-inspired front end works so well. I do wish the rear end had more going on, but overall, not bad at all. Interior is pretty good too! I like the mix of materials, the door designs, etc. Hoping the NX facelift reveal is soon too!

For a platform that could have been very sleek, I'm surprised they went the chunky/off-road look. At least it looks more unique in a sea of unibody crossover EVs.

Like I said, it’s literally just a Highlander with a Lexus badge slapped on it lmao. Still using MacPherson struts on a supposedly high-end model in 2026, no air suspension, no active anti-roll bars, and from the looks of it there’s still steel everywhere. And the fact they won’t talk about the electrical specs at all pretty much screams it’s the same RZ/ES drivetrain with a bigger battery shoved in.

Meanwhile the Germans are already on 800V platforms doing 500-mile range, and Lexus still feels a whole generation behind. Honestly this thing is so underwhelming they probably shouldn’t have even revealed it.

At this point anyone still coping about the Lexus brand should probably just move on. They’re basically just Toyota+ now. Just watch whatever Toyota releases first and you already know Lexus is gonna drop the same thing a year later with nicer leather, more sound deadening, and a bigger price tag 🤣. Boring as hell.

That front end is really nice. They should set this and the GX as the baseline for their SUVs and BOF moving forward. The RX and LX need this treatment ASAP.

I agree. looks like history is repeating itself again. Lexus not standing out when compared to Toyota. Fortunately for me the cars I'm interested in from Lexus you won't find in the Toyota Line up.

The M2 and M3 look really nice but what made the F special was how rare they are.

Damn Lexus how far thou as fallen!!

Toyota's signature poor packaging. A transverse platform SUV with longer hood than a longitudinal platform, and they STILL didn't manage to have a frunk.

IIRC they mentioned the new Highlander for Chinese market will get an EREV version, so the extra space there could fit an ICE generator. An EREV version for the TZ could be interesting, although I doubt they have the weight margins (the TZ550e is already over 2600kg, not the worst in class but the GA-K platform is already near the limit on the 2500kg Century SUV). What they could do is reducing the battery to 57.7 kWh and add the new 1.5L generator for 75kW of continuous generation.

They are still using a traditional steel floor as the crash structure, not using the battery pack as the load-bearing component to improve packaging and reducing weight.

Battery pack is still cell-to-module. They just increased the number of modules from 12 to 13 (104s1p) and individual cell capcity from 205Ah to 250Ah.
