Not sure why some of you guys are really buying into the rumors about an RC/LC replacement.

The Crown coupe rumors are probably also another big fat lie by best car as well.

Well there are no solid facts now that the timeline for the EVs has been pushed back so we are all at the same speculation level. With Lexus EV plans being pushed back who really knows at this juncture? We do know its time for the NA chassis to end but i cant imagine just 2 cars one being "LGR/LFR/GRF" type car taking over for the RCF GT3/Consumer version and one LFA replacement with the ESC. Unsure how that pans out. I would assume we would have a RC/LC segment car to match the M4 segment space hopefully. At the end of the day who really knows. Any confident fan position when it comes to Lexus info is as accurate as defining the Mega Millions winning numbers at this point. We all just dont really know when it comes to the committee-based decision-making with TMC when it comes to Lexus and the constant hard to understand dynamic of Lexus USA/EU etc vs TMC etc.

My Pure Speculation fantasy conflicts

1) Final RCF special GTD version with the 5.4ltr engine to end its production run in 2025 possibly ending the second chapter of the F cars era ( hope they continue F of course ) Lexus Racing does excepitonally well in 2025 with the RCF GT3 ending that chapter.
2) "LGR/GRF" model replacing the RCF in GT3 and the LC spot as halo consumer product iteration at the end of 2025 as the LC discontinues at the same time with no 2026 iteration ending the NA chassis era.
3) RC/LC replacement M4 Segment Car with a manual offering with a new high powered 4 cyclinder hybrid engine and a ZF trans auto.
4) LGR/GRF releases in 2026 with performance iterations alot of focus on the branding transition for the racing program to the new platform homage to the RCF GT3 and the visual representation of the brand going forward ( the choice is made for public consumption of GR or F based branding launched with the new car and the brand in general )
5) 2027 successes with the new platform and racing program in second season with new platform leads to LFA replacement the ESC finally having an official name LFA/LFE being heavily teased with new real-life models shown touting its transmission and ICE driving transmission characteristics being the first of is kind to have that level of ambition.
6) Worst case scenario none of this happends and we randomly get an LBX launch in NA and where all confused as Lexus abandons performance cars leaving Toyota to take its reigns as Lexus fades back to older demographic offerings for BEVs and NA hybrid SUVs ( hope not ) .

Its fun to speculate lol. Cheers to a new year!

I wanted to post all of the Tokyo Auto Salon livestreams below, for anyone that would like to tune in. I’ll update when I see anymore. Pretty excited for this one. It looks like we will have 3 surprises from GR, fingers crossed we see something juicy.

That’s pretty rad. Test vehicle for the MR2 drivetrain, I presume? I wonder how they are sending power to the front wheels? I guess the engine would have to be pretty far off-center.

I didn’t realize the new engine was going to be called the G20E. I wonder how much is shared with the G16E? Now all we need is a G30E.

I dunno Japan rather likes Lexus with pride. It’s been top 3 in luxury sales there for ages. They asked for the IS 500 after they saw the reception in the USA. There wasn’t a plan to sell it there initially. I do agree the Crown and Century nameplates are so revered that some people will see them over Lexus.

To me what we are seeing is the diversity of Lexus being sold around the world taking away some of USAs voice maybe. Sales used to be dominated in the USA but it’s what less that half now? And products needed in the USA don’t fit elsewhere many times and Lexus has learned the Lexus of trying to wrong size everything.

Also there is this and for the first time Lexus is separate from Toyota. So maybe the future will be different. There is no way this tremendous investment is made without putting more investment in the brand

I hope that with this new R&D center, Lexus can focus on creating more exciting ICE cars. They should make vehicles truly designed for enthusiasts. With such incredible resources, it would be a shame to see them go to develop EV only.

Something interesting here...

“Toyota was planning to exhibit the Lexus SUV "F" model at the Tokyo Auto Salon, which starts tomorrow. However, this was suddenly canceled just before the opening.

To summarize the intention of the exhibit, Toyota decided to set a high-performance model for its SUVs in order to avoid leaving the "F" brand hanging in the balance after the decision to discontinue the RC-F model. To demonstrate this intention, they had planned to run a pre-development vehicle on the Nürburgring and then exhibit it at the venue.
However, the development of the 2L in-line 4-cylinder turbo engine was delayed, making it impossible to conduct a field test at the Nürburgring, so instead they had planned to exhibit a "mock" study model, but this was canceled.

The reason for the cancellation is unclear, but it is possible that Morizo instructed, "Don't put up fakes that haven't even been run." However, since the theme of the booth, "Making cars at the Nürburgring," cannot be changed at this point, those involved may be racking their brains over what kind of presentation to make and how to lay out the vehicles in the booth”

*Update on the LC+RC*

LC+RC integrated sports

Experience the world of luxury FR coupes that only Lexus can offer!

"Currently, the LC and RC are being developed as Lexus luxury sports coupes. These two cars are planned to be integrated into one model in the next model. The concept is "an authentic sports coupe with a sense of luxury," and development is progressing steadily. The powertrain is likely to be a 3.5-liter HEV, and there is strong information that a BEV will also be available. There is also a possibility that the 3.4-liter V6 twin-turbo engine currently on sale in the Tundra or the 2.4-liter turbo HEV in the Tacoma will be adopted. Although it is an integrated vehicle, it is likely to be a luxury coupe in a similar class to the LC. Although it is introduced here as an LC+RC integrated sports car, there is no information yet on the name of the car. However, development is steadily progressing."

Makes sense as the LFA raced at the Ring was announced last minute as a booth car
