When driving across a time zone, is the clock supposed to update automatically?

It certainly seems as if it is supposed to. A dialog pops up on the nav screen and asks if you want to. (I forget the exact wording used). However, on a recent trip to and from the Midwest, from AZ, I noticed the clock did not update, in spite of me selecting yes.

Only the system clock in the screen, but not the analog clock - it's manual.
