Most registered Lexus in December was UX250H with 767 units ranking 47th. Most popular Lexus in 2018 was NX300H with 8712 registrations with an increase of 85,1%.

Do you see numbers for NX in December?

According to Lexus Japan waiting time for UX250H is 5,5 months (https://lexus.jp/news/ux_info/)
But I have heard that some dealers have waiting of 6 months+ also white color has apparently long waiting time.
CT250H has 4 months to 4.5 mo.
RC300H has 5,5 months
ES300H has 6,5 months to 7 months.
Information was updated 18.1.2018

Interesting that ES seems to have rather unusually high demand.

I was just checking prices in some European countries, and ES is around $10k more expensive than IS, a very different situation compared to US market for instance.

They really did position it to similar pricing as GS300h, just with more base equipment, and cheaper loaded. It might give them ability to discount more after year or two, something that germans do easily.

Okay here is weekly update of waiting times in Japan. Information is from 25.1.
UX: Lexus says that newly ordered UX Will Come out of production line in late July.
ES: So this gets interesting waiting time is 7-8 months!! Maybe it's reflection of high demand in Japan, Korea and China. Perhaps now commenced European sales affect it Also.
RC: Waiting time is 5,5 months. Maybe Lexus has cut production capacity or mid cycle refresh has made some demand in Japan and Europe since the waiting time is for RC300H
CT: 4,5 months. This is interesting because UX sells like cake in Japan. Maybe cut in production capacity.

Here in Portugal the fuel is around 1,73 USD per liter.
Please take my post as inoffensive towards you or any other member of the Lexus Enthusiasts. I have heard many times in other forums /sites people expect to save money on the cost difference between gasoline and charging batteries from the sun.

I believe it is a childish fallacy, because Governments are not going to commit suicide by losing their oxygen, just because their taxpayers wont need to pay gasoline taxes! Am I insane to believe that?

No, you're right. Recent history is full of stories where politicians don't understand that taxing something leads to people doing/buying it less, from the cigarette taxes in the 1980s that caused nearly everyone to quit smoking, to Philadelphia's recent soft drink tax which has resulted in sharply higher beer and wine sales.

To your specific point, there is talk in several states of a monthly or yearly EV tax to make up for the loss in gasoline tax revenue; if that happens and it doesn't include hybrids Toyota will have a banner year.

You would think it reinforces taxing people less means people spend more.

Yomiuri shinbun: Lexus will increase production capacity.

-Because of prolonged waiting time Lexus will increase production output in factories located in Aichi prefecture.
-Currently ES is manufactured in Miyata plant, Fukuoka but within this year production commences also in Tsutsumi plant, Aichi.
-ES output increases from 100k to 110k.
-NX will be also manufactured in Tahara plant, Aichi alongside Miyata plant
-Production capacity of Lexus plants are reaching limit so the extra production will be in Toyota plants.
-Increasing sales in Japan and China forces this production rearramgement.
