I had hoped for more in 2018. The UX and ES can't come soon enough. I got to see some of the ES up close recently. It looks mightily handsome in person.

We will seemingly have to wait a couple of days until the big Three German car makers post their 2018 results.

From the preliminary numbers (sales January through November) it seems like BMW will remain the largest. It sales seem inline with last year, although it should be easy to pump out some base level 1-series on steelies to post record sales yet again.

Both MB and Audi show decreased sales in Europe. Some months were particularly brutal for Audi. That honestly comes as a surprise to me, given that their products seem to be on par with BMW and they all seem to chase the same segment.

ES and UX are coming to my local dealer in Tampere, Finland during spring, can't wait to test drive.

Wow with combined sales of USA, China, Europe, Japan and Korea (13340) sales are 627513 and we are still waiting Asia, Arab countries and Australia&New Zealand.
I think 2% increase is driven by Russian sales where Lexus could over throw MB and BMW in following years. Infact Western Europe sales declined this year but will be increased by introduction of two new models. 100000 by 2020 is not going to happen but 100000 in Europe and 1000000 globally will certainly happen in next decade.

In Portugal for 2018 there was 560 new registrations, meaning a 24% increase YoY where the premium market fall more than 8%.
2019 is expected to keep growing as there will be new dealers spread around the country.

The top 3 sales where:
-> IS300h, 170 units
-> NX300h, 159 units
-> CT200h, 150 units

And 100% hybrid sales for 2018!

Toyota is the 10th biggest seller with Lexus in 29th place.

If I remember right there were 286 or so registrations in Finland. 100+NX and 98 IS. Toyota was market leader with over 16000 units sold.

VW group including Audi has had huge difficulties with meeting new WLTP requirements which are not even in full force yet. Hence drop for Audi sales of around 40% since September 1st that WLTP came into force...

Lexus is Synonymous right now with the hybrid
Lexus already take amazing steps
If they ditch now the NA engines in all the lineup, it will never effect them
That's why Lexus is the most solid future proof among all luxury and non luxury automakers

It just came at my attention, 2018 was the best record for Lexus in Portugal.
