Lexus reported June sales of 26,121 units, up 11.1 percent from June 2014 on a volume basis and 6.6 percent on a DSR basis.

“The demand for luxury utility vehicles continues to grow and has helped put Lexus and its dealers on a record sales pace for the year,” said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “The new NX compact crossover continues to be one of the hottest new models on the market.”

Mike, thanks for the stats.

Canada Day holiday today hence likely why no Canadian sales report.

As for the US, no surprises really. I'm expecting the ES and RX to keep sliding until MY 2016s are out in a few months.

The NX in 6 months has sold exactly half of its 40k allotment for 2016. As such, we can continue to expect sales in between 3500 to 4k monthly to the remainder of the year.

LFA 1 sold ???

Surprise, X5 outsold the RX. I can't ever recall when this happened.

I was surprised when I saw the numbers for the RX and x5 also, temporary.

Thanks for posting, Mike. :)

It's interesting to see BMW in first place again among luxury makes, despite their newest models becoming more appliance-like and less driver-oriented with the new steering and suspension changes. They are generally not as appealing to traditionalists now as before, but perhaps, at the same time, are appealing to a wider portion of the market. Or, perhaps (and I think this is more likely)......a number of buyers are purchasing or leasing BMW today on their past reputation, not noting the leas test significant redesigns of the underpinnings.

Also noticed that several Kia models seem to be languishing. Kia is indeed giving out some good deals and rebates......my brother just took advantage of one of those deals on a new Sportage.

It's also interesting to see the Dodge Grand Caravan minivan languishing. For years (even decades), the Caravan and now-defunct Voyager wrote the book on minivan sales. Not only with competition from the lower-priced versions of the Kia Sedona, but perhaps the long-standing record for Caravan unreliability, after some 30 years, is finally catching up with it. ;) And, of course, it may (?) soon be off the market, if Fiat's CEO Marcionne decides to go solely with the Chrysler Town and Country instead.

Less than 3k 5 Series is unusual... wonder what's going on there...

Hmm, I think consumers are holding out for the 2016 RX's...maybe as to why the X5 is higher in units.

I think they ended up in X5s (the market trend is away from cars and into 'light trucks')...perhaps a firehouse lease special too. I attended a BMW drive event and I got a $1000 certificate for 'test driving'...$1000 bucks off like that for BMW can do wonders for sales.

Not only that, but the prices of these BMW's are sky high!!! I drove a 328 loaner not too long ago, and with halogen lights that abortion was around 48! My former loaded 335 coupe was around that price.

The new X5 is more expensive than the last gen model, less attractive in my opinion, doesn't have AWD standard - and it sold 7,500 units, outselling even the much cheaper RX that has been a sales leader ever since it launched. What the hell is going on, did everyone get rich all of a sudden? Thanks Obama! :D

I noticed that too, very unusual.

When's the next gen 5 series due?...

A specific date has not been announced, but from some of the unofficial sources I've seen, here in the U.S. market, sometime next year as a 2017 model.

Agreed.....the last 335i I test-drove/reviewed, a few years ago, listed for around 47 or 48K, and was a whole lot more car than a 328. I really liked the last-generation 335i......dollar-for-dollar, I thought it was a better value than its more expensive M3 brother. I thought the 335i was arguably the best of the 3-series for regular street driving.....though the M3, of course, was better on a track.

Thanks, so that doesn't explain 5 series sales slowdown for the month of June. This gen 5 series are hugely popular around here, sometimes it seems like I see more in a day than Camry, Accords.
