High pitched sound

I can hear a high pitched sound when the engine is running.When i turn off the engine i can hear the sound wind down for about 2 seconds, Is this normal and what causes the sound

High pitched sounds are not normal. Is this a new RX?

yes new 1000 miles just noticed the sound about a week ago

I'd have the dealer take a look then.

It could be the front seat fans. They can get noisy and they are just behind your ears. The controls are in the center console near the dash.

Agreed, but they shouldn't be noisy on a 1000 mile RX.

They are noisy from the factory when set to level 3. It bothers women the most because they are more sensitive to high frequencies.

There is another source of noise coming from the front dash area that should get a fix as a Technical Service Bulletin.
This might be the culprit.
