By the time Lexus’ LFA II comes, it will again be in supercar class rather than hypercar.

They also blame market preferences for falling sales of Golf GTI and R. They already lost many customers with the capacitive touch buttons. And when they finally fix that flaw they stopped offering a manual. If I were a GTI customer that feels like being betrayed twice, and I would gladly switch to a product that has both physical buttons and manual i.e. GR Corolla or CTR.

Cars like the R8, two door RS5 and TT made Audi cool. With them gone, styling turning into Kia and a crossover heavy lineup they are now uncool. It’s wild the brass there can’t see that. Thinking a Q8 and its variants are an equal replacement is crazy. It’s still a crossover.

I just don’t understand how Lambo got a new car and they didn’t share with the R8. Unless Lambo said no sharing.

Old "new" Audi management was in charge of all of these decisions, including the cancellation of all coupes, redesigning of the badges, renaming of lineup, and EV-heavy future.

All of the new "old" execs that took over the brand in 2023 and 2024 are reverting those changes and trying to fix the brand, at least with small things like cancelling the renaming of the lineup and bringing S badges back to the grilles, etc. Though obviously too much damage has been done in terms of cancelled product and ****. We'll see what happens
