In Florida my understanding is the front windows and most of the windshield can't be tinted legally, or at least can't be very dark (@mikeavelli would probably know more). If your dealer won't do it, call a tinting specialist and have them take a look.

Ian thanks very much. We went to have the car tinted and found out there is a coating on the two front windows. It has a coating on it and when touched with a razor blade it scratches. Lexus states that you should have read your owners manual as it states do not use razor blade. The larger manufacturer of film has now sent out a warning to all of its 8000 plus dealers to NOT touch Lexus NX until further notice Looking to see if anyone has a solution as I live in Florida

Oh, wow, I didn't know there was a specific problem with the NX. When I lived in Florida, the dealer pretty much sold all the cars with tint already applied.

From what we understand the only windows are the front two and only in the nx. Not a single other car. The tinter says that he can not filtm the car due to the warranty and the inability to remove the film when it disintegrates in Florida So we are stuck as are all NX owners.

Tinting the front windows in the NX will help keep the interior cool and provide some extra privacy. Tinting is also a great way to keep the sun's rays from damaging the car's interior and upholstery.

I totally understand your concern about getting your windows tinted for the NX300H. I was in a similar situation when I got my car. I had mine done at a local shop and it turned out great.

While saving some ultraviolet radiation in the daytime, tinting, unfortunately, can also cut down on night vision. That is one reason why many states have strict rules on the tinting-percentage. Another reason its to make it easier for police, when they stop a vehicle, to see how many people are inside the vehicle and/or if anyone inside is going for a weapon.
