I want him to make a total exposé on the downfall of Lexus and talk about how they overpromised and underdelivered with these cars. I want 15 minutes of reading material from Gecko I know he has it in him. 😂😂fine wine takes time ...

We need to talk about the stillborn F cars, the GS, LS, LC... all of it.
Podcast, Reddit post, NYT Opinion piece... anything. Car enthusiasts and journalists are happy about TMC's current state (to be fair I'm not completely "unhappy" either) but they don't really understand what's truly going on deep down at TMC.I'm kind of thinking podcast for that? Like a year end edition? Need some other folks to do it with me.
2025 has been a pivotal year for Lexus.
These are the kind of details that you need to add @Gecko so you can give not only the car community, but also TMC a big, proverbial slap across the face. Given you said that these cars were real, we need people to actually have some hard evidence to see for themselves and for them to truly understand what's going on behind closed doors.I think a lesson learned for me personally is to not doubt BestCar's scoops. Their recent track record is almost 100% accurate. I think their poor predictions on Lexus F cars (which made me dismiss them in the first place) caught them by surprise as well. When BestCar post high detail renders, it means they have seen the real car. GS-F/LC-F/LS-F/LF-1 were real, and their last-minute cancellations have to be personal command from Akio Toyoda himself. He's the only person capable of making this kind of decision on four projects that reached design freeze and had advanced engineering prototypes. Their whole coverage on GR GT/LFR/LFA II has gradually evolved to be entirely accurate by September 2025.
That's almost impossible because BestCar never admit they have internal sources in any of the Japanese car companies, even though we are 99.9% sure that's actually the case. And I suppose in other parts of the world similar people have NDAs and even if NDAs expire they don't want to burn their bridges. These are the kind of details that you need to add @Gecko so you can give not only the car community, but also TMC a big, proverbial slap across the face. You can be sure that there's a lot of private parties that would be willing to leak a thing or two anonymously. There's a handful of people within these forums that know a lot of information. That's almost impossible because BestCar never admit they have internal sources in any of the Japanese car companies, even though we are 99.9% sure that's actually the case. I was under the assumption the GR GT was going to be Lexus LFR (if Lexus won the bid) and the LFA II was going to be the BEV. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.A good example is them insisting the Lexus BEV will be called the LFA, NOT LFR. I have always thought it as a ridiculous idea but here we are.
"Lexus debuts the Sport Concept again and changed the name to LFA concept"
LOL that would've worked.I started with the headline, The Sport Concept Has Been Renamed to "LFA Concept" 😶🌫️
Trust me. We all are. It may not do anything but we need to "rebel" as much as we can. DM Lexus on Instagram. Comment your feelings on their photos, Akio Toyoda's photos, etc. Threaten to leave Lexus (I have multiple times as a 28 year old fan and 5th time Lexus owner) by telling them again on Instagram, etc. or tell your dealers.I think TMC just showed us this again - with a new name - to try and appease Lexus enthusiasts. Not showing up with anything after that Lexus badged GR leak was going to be tough…
I’m honestly sad by current Lexus status.
Yes we need to fight this. I don't want to fight to kick out Akio Toyoda, but I want to get him to notice the loyal Lexus customers, and make changes. Akio is still very important for the GR brand and I like some of the stuff he has done (controvertial on here I know). I'm just a 12th grader, but I have been following Lexus throughout my childhood, and its like when we finally get to the point where its something we can attain, its not the same brand we remember. I think the guy who I want to talk to would be Simon Humphreys. It would be cool to have a convo and give him a piece what I think, as I don't just have a list of problems but I also have an idea of how to fix this. When I have more time ill write up a plan here. I will preface by stating that with the way things are currently going there is no way in hell that what im saying will actually work/happen.Trust me. We all are. I feel like we all are. My parents have owned Toyotas for years, and they both want to step up to a Lexus for their next cars. It sucks to see Lexus be a shell of what we once aspired to own. I feel like making all the Toyota+ models parts of the crown lineup and focusing heavily on the upmarket cars could help Lexus become something aspirational again.I think TMC just showed us this again - with a new name - to try and appease Lexus enthusiasts. It's not going to do anything. Lexus keeps getting away with what they do because the status quo is exactly what their customer base wants. The average Lexus buyer wants a NX/RX/TX/ES and nothing else. They don't want anything exciting, just a car that takes them from point A to point B. Lexus doesn't need to cater to their "enthusiast" customer base anymore because there are maybe a few thousand left on the planet. Most already switched to a different brand like I did.Trust me.
