Remember the "Luxury Space" van?

Nope, it's not AI. Real test mule for a 6-wheeled van. Shown on NHK in Japan.

If they're really trying to go forward with this 6-wheel idea, Lexus product planners are far more dense and out of touch than even I thought.

What are we looking at here? eTNGA-and-a-half? I saw this pic and honestly thought it was AI or a blurry drive by. I didn't realize this is something they are legitimately dabbling with.

It's just a test bed. The 6-wheel LS will be on the gigacasted platform. And they were adamant about going forward with this concept at the Japan Mobility Show last year. But I think the LS Coupe concept comes out first. I'm more interested in an LX version of the Land Cruiser SE camouflaged vehicle as of right now though.

So does that become the LM, or will we have LS van AND LM?
The latter. The LS van will be bigger and have 3-row VIP seating instead of the 2-row VIP seating you find in the LM. But I wonder if we’re getting 2 flagship SUVs in the form of LS SUV and an LX based on the LC SE alongside the existing LX.

It's complete nonsense. The only other 6-wheeled EV van is one that is designed to deploy drones.

They are probably going for 6-wheeled design since a lot of 4-wheel full-size+ BEVs have issues with usable payload. Many of them will bottom out with full passenger load on bad roads. A lot of Chinese full-size BEVs have just 300-400kg of payload due to their immense empty weight, and their suspension components are under very heavy stress.

6 wheels is definitely the option for a super extended version rather than the default tho. Both 4 and 6 are likely available.
