It’s sold out for 2 years. Nationwide people are paying mark up. They are trying to get more here but supply issues makes it tough.

Even with improvements needed the car is a sales grand slam.

LX and Land Cruiser are strangely well known to non car people where I am at, I have found. It’s very curious.

Judging by the current sales data, the LX600 is far from a "sales grand slam" thus far.

yes, they can not produce any more than that. You know, shortage of chips? Otherwise, waiting time would not be 2 years +.

For the 100th time, the LX is not a volume model here. They can’t make enough and the middle east gets the priority first. The production run is sold out. Supply and chips are a huge issue. It’s like saying the G Wagon is a failure because it doesn’t sell in large volumes.

I assume when the TX arrives which is for the USA, then it will be more of a large volume SUV.

We are all well aware people are paying anything for the SUV. The LX never had that happen before.

Despite it's legendary status, the LX has always been last rung from a sales perspective, so "the shortage of chips" defense holds little weight, especially considering that other luxury vehicle brands are also having the same chip issues, yet many of their full-size SUV sales are up over the previous year.

"Volume model" or not, when compared to the majority of current SUV's in class, the sales figures of the LX600 will continue to be dismal throughout it's lifecycle, even without the overhanging chip shortage.

In fact, I doubt that the 4th generation LX600 sales numbers will eclipse the previous 3rd generation LX570 yearly/overall sales figures.

You only show US sales. LX is sold worldwide and comes from same factory as models sold in US. ME and Russia (or no more) are the priority for delivery.

LX is not a single product. It shares chip allocation with LC300.

However, since one of its main markets is being sanctioned, they should be able to free up considerable volume for NA.

I think Sequoia Capstone tells a lot about LX's future in NA. That is their real plan for LC200 successor.

I'm clearly aware of the other markets the LX600 is currently sold in, but the primary dialogue is based on LX600 sales data specifically in the U.S. market.

You only show US sales.

101st time. I am not sure how else to explain the LX is a limited production model. The LC and LX are sold out. So no offense but this data doesn’t matter. We know it’s not a best seller it’s not meant to be a best seller. It is not an Escalade competitor head on. That vehlcle is much larger. That is what the rumored TX would be for. All the vehicles you mentioned are significantly larger. The LX just happens to be Lexus largest vehicle so people just compare it. Meanwhile buyers don’t care. They love the LX for its merits and it’s nice to not see 500 of them everyday like an Escalade or QX60.

The IS isn’t meant to sell the ES. Doesn’t mean it’s a failure or bad. It has a different goal and sales target.

Lexus is only going to sell about 2,000 IS 500’s. That isn’t bad if BMW sells 10,000 M3s. They have different sales goals.

Mercedes-Benz makes a G wagon. Why don’t you list it’s sales too? Oh that’s right it’s not meant to sell in huge numbers.

The LX 600 for the 101st time is sold out and Lexus can’t get them here fast enough. It is a supply/chip issue. Dealers have 10-20 people waiting to buy one. They are going for over sticker. There just isn’t any supply. It is unfortunate right now.

The LX will never sell like those larger and volume based SUVs and CUVs.

The LX600 is a "limited production" model because there are "limited" buyers.

The LX are sold out

Until Lexus ramps up production.

The "data" always "matters," even if it doesn't suit your particular frame of reference.

No one claimed that the LX600 should be a "best seller," especially in it's current guise, however the fact that the LX600 is dead last in full size luxury SUV segment sales & is being outsold by the Infiniti QX80 (another relic) certainly speaks volumes.

The LX just happens to be Lexus largest vehicle so people just compare it. Meanwhile buyers don’t care. They love the LX for its merits and it’s nice to not see 500 of them everyday like an Escalade or QX60.

Fair, valid points.

Mercedes-Benz makes a G wagon. Why don’t you list it’s sales too? Oh that’s right it’s not meant to sell in huge numbers.

You're late to the party, as I already listed the MB G Wagon sales numbers in my original reply.

Oh & FYI; The more expensive MB G Wagon is also outselling the LX600 currently as well 😁

All the vehicles you mentioned are significantly larger.

Not entirely true, as the MB G Wagon is somewhat smaller than the LX600

For the 102nd time; the LX is sold out and only has an 8k a year run. Production is backed up. Dealers can’t get vehicles. You are comparing it to vehicles that were created for higher volume thus have higher sales. It’s like me saying the x5 and gle and mdx etc are failures because they sell half of the RX. No they have their targets and are meeting them. They are all successful.

I don't understand what you are arguing over because your points are the same: the LX is a capacity limited product that isn't optimized for the North American market. And TMC is doing precisely what's needed to re-position its high-end SUV products: cancel Land Cruiser, move Sequoia up, TX as a family hauler and keep allocating a small amount of LX for those who want nothing but a Land Cruiser. Sacrificing sales performance of the LX is an unavoidable part of this new plan.

Yes I know the best case scenario is building a NA-only Lexus Sequoia as the LX, but only time will tell whether their own plan would work in the end. LX buyers want the maximum quality possible from a TMC product, and no matter how hard they try the Sequoia will always have slightly inferior quality than the Land Cruiser.

But you're making it sound like there are plenty of extra units sitting on the lots and the 558 is all they've sold so far which isn't true. There's only been 558 sold because that's how many vehicles have been delivered to the US. Every one has been sold. I don't know how much better you can get than a 100% sold rate with 0 days on the lot. I really don't know what you were expecting.
