Man did they killed nomenclature big time. Unless you are current Infiniti enthusiast sales person you would have no clue what numbers after QX represent. Ok we get it you wanted the canon Q to be part of the badge after Q was killed, thats fine. But their most successful badges were G and FX and killing them off was a big mistake. Wouldn't GQ, GCQ, FXQ/FQx make more sense? If you have a single engine option don't even put no numbers. If you got two engine options go with triple digits like GQ 300 and GQ 500. Two digit designation like G35 was done to mimic BMW engine designations but BMW models consist of three digits overall. Audi tried double digit engine marking and failed as well. And as a bonus once/if flagship Q model comes back just call it THE Q

I honestly think they should just rename and rebrand infiniti altogether. That way, they can shed the old identity completely.

Currently, even if they make good products, their reputation is not as a luxury brand, its fundamentally rooted in 300 credit score illegal activities. They should start over in branding.

Mind explaining to a Western European person what this all is about?

I feel like sharing a platform doesn't necessarily mean its Nissan+. They just need to drive a lot better. We saw with Lexus and Toyota (of the past) that they succeeded in this regard.

If you are an SUV brand it might work sales wise. But then again it doesn't mean it will. Lexus will soon be a brand with single car in its lineup.

Since when did Infiniti have a dedicated platform? Every Infiniti has an equivalent Nissan that shares the platform just like Lexus and Acura.

I don't think Espinosa's "Make Nissan Great Again" plans will work out. The FM platform hasn't been updated in what, 20 years? He can talk all about reviving the iconic brand names but these products won't be competitive at all without a new architecture or powertrain series. And the degradation of the Infiniti dealership network is so bad they will make Lexus selling F cars look like professionals. Their purchasing experience is barely better than non-exclusive Genesis dealers.

The Skyline sedan is probably the only thing I'm interested in but it needs to be 25% cheaper than a M350i for me consider buying.
