This is nearly as gorgeous as the structural blue. And, while I’m likely a few decades away from being able to afford one, it would be cool to see a colour other than red and shades of white/silver/grey/black on the Lexus.ca site. Was Structural Blue a colour you could “build & price” on Lexus...
Very interesting point. I wonder if, rather than making true ‘F’ versions of the SUVs and crossovers in the lineup, Lexus just decides to make one super-crossover and call it the LFX.
Yes, I agree. And that could compete with the S400's 329 hp. But they're not going to make an "S550-fighter" (this LS500) and call it something that looks numerically to be on about the same level as the S400.
I think they are taking on a horsepower-/torque-related numbering system. But really, what the others are naming their cars is probably the most important factor. The marketing people would want an LS350 competing with an S550 (or whatever...too lazy to look up exact model names).
I agree. But I wonder if they would ever consider a SWB LS if they ditched the GS? I don't think that's a good idea but I'm throwing it out there.
Or, as someone else suggested, a 4-door coupe version like an A7--an "LSC"? (Does Lincoln own that name?)
I think the new LS is a very attractive vehicle. There are a couple of things that jump out.
First of all, it seems from reading these comments that the lines/slats are a contentious point. I wasn't sure what I thought at first. They reminded me of an American luxury car from the 80's...
As much as I love to see exciting models such as the RC350, GS-F, and LC500, I'm particularly interested in this reveal because this could very well be my next car.
While I also think they'll go the turbo route, I wonder if they'd ever consider dropping the LFA V10 in there and tweaking it a bit. Or tweaking it a lot. A fellow can dream, can't he?
Seeing a versatile CT lineup that included both sedan and CUV styles would be neat... Something like Infiniti is doing with its Q30/QX30.

I agree. I would love to see a glimpse of a new LS but the words "progressive luxury" suggest to me that it's something more entry level. There's not been much talk of a new CT but that would be my guess...maybe a CT200T.

They look virtually identical but it appears that the camouflaged RX is pointed slightly toward the camera. (Look at the amount of rear, passenger-side tire showing in both pics.) that makes me wonder if the difference in length is actually more than what these side-by-side pics suggest.
