IS 500 F SPORT Performance Megathread

That's straight up sunk cost fallacy. Even worse, they're not helping out overall - V8 powered sedans have mostly disappeared except in the lineup of less than a handful of manufacturers. It should be in their interest to support Lexus' efforts to keep cars like these alive, even if they're not...

IS 500 F SPORT Performance Megathread

You're right, it made it click for me as well. I didn't like the wheels as shown in the press release, but this pic and the Cloudburst Grey and the 3/4 view also changed my mind on it.

    2021 Lexus IS Megathread

Lexus strongest, and I mean strongest, selling point is reliability. If it had even slightly better reliability than the competition, I would already be in something else like the M340i (unlikely, given the direction BMW is going), C43 or the Genesis G70 3.3T. Your reasoning of 80% performance...

    2021 Lexus IS Megathread

Is there a safe way that you know of to remap the throttle for the 2GR-FKS cars, ie. the 2018 - present IS350, to 'undo' some of this NVH compliance stuff without affecting reliability? It would be nice if the V6 responded quicker and revved faster, especially from a stop up to 3.5k in 1st.

    2021 Lexus IS Megathread

The next gen NX is truly the new direction that Lexus is taking and it is exciting. A lot of the issues that reviewers have with the IS, especially with the AWD IS350 as reviewed by Mark and Jack, are with its weight, acceleration off the line, interior looking dated and so on. The NX's 2.4T...

Acura TLX Type S vs. Lexus IS 500 F SPORT Performance

Between the two, I would go IS500 any time. It's a NA dual injection V8 shoved into a compact RWD-platform car that happens to be made in Japan. The TLX Type-S is none of the above. Its advantages include SH-AWD and price - that's it.

Currently Driving: The 2021 RC 350 F SPORT

I have a '19 IS350 AWD F-Sport. It may lack the initial burst of torque that turbocharged 4 cylinder rivals have, but that's about its only downside (in my opinion, plus the fuel economy isn't the most awesome). I like that it pulls all the way to it's near 7k redline and makes a more pleasing...

Official Lexus Future Product & Powertrain Megathread

With the T24A-FTS as the V6 replacement, will we also see a revised TNGA platform for the real 4th gen IS?

    2nd Generation (2022+) Lexus NX Megathread (NX 200, 250, 350, 350h and 450h+)

While I'm not in the market for an NX, I'm still excited to read more about it because it points the way forward for future Lexus products. In particular, the 2.4T, tuned to ~320hp and with a healthy shove of torque in the low rev range, would make an ideal replacement for the V6. Don't get me...

    2nd Generation (2022+) Lexus NX Megathread (NX 200, 250, 350, 350h and 450h+)

With the 2.4T looking like a replacement for the 2GR, that would mean a true next gen IS350 will use this engine, correct? If so, is there a push to update a TNGA platform (ie. N) and get the IS off of the New N? Also, that full-time AWD on the NX350 sounds interesting. Anybody have any details...

And (despite being irrelevant for some people) it has folding rear seats.

IS 500 F SPORT Performance Megathread

Yeah i mean, you could always shelve the OEM wheels and get the IS350 BBS wheels (which I think look much better), or get some aftermarket ones from Vossen

I don't like them, too busy and the star pattern isn't what I think of when I imagine Lexus wheels.

IS 500 F SPORT Performance Megathread

I wonder if there will be this F-Sport IS500 RWD with the V8, and another F-Sport IS500 AWD with a different powertrain (V35A-FTS). Lexus has done it before, with the IS300 RWD having a 2.0T and the IS300 AWD using the 2GR-FKS.

IS 500 F SPORT Performance Megathread

Like Gecko said, I have no upgrade path forward from the IS350 because what I really want is the Lexus equivalent of the Genesis G70 and the Acura TLX Type-S. That is, a turbocharged V6 sport sedan with RWD / AWD and no loss in practicality, tech and comfort. People love the Lexus reliability...

    2021 Lexus IS Megathread

You weren't kidding, I just checked out the specs and the only mention of ML is for the aforementioned IS300 Ultra Luxury. My guess is that they are playing games with the price and reserving the ML system for future model years of the F-Sport 3.

    2021 Lexus IS Megathread

You can throw all the competition's 2.0T engines in the garbage as far as I'm concerned, the naturally aspirated V6 will always sound 100x better and deliver much faster response, not to mention that the 2GR is also a bulletproof design.
