Did Lexus Racing Just Tease an LC F?

I thought someone wrote about some news of a very light and higher performance version of the RC F that had to be special ordered ? was ~800 lbs lighter? I thought I heard that, but may be wrong

Introducing the Lexus IS 500 Launch Edition

oh, great! I am happy I was so way off. mid to high $50s sounds pretty good, thanks!

Introducing the Lexus IS 500 Launch Edition

$70k CAD = $55 k USD, but the IS350 f-sport starts at $56k USD (I think), so I think the IS500 will be more than the IS350, but who knows! its in a good range though

Introducing the Lexus IS 500 Launch Edition

Yes, that is interesting. However, I buy a car to drive it (and the IS500 looks really good for that purpose) and I would put far more miles on the car for any real appreciation, anyway, the kind of return on investment you are noting is not good (20 + % over 20 year). What I am excited about is...

Introducing the Lexus IS 500 Launch Edition

I certainly agree that there will be a demand (and I hope there will be) for the kinds of driving experiences that such a car will offer once the EVs take over. Although, i understand that the Porsche Taycan offers a great driving experience and I bet there will be a few more EVs out there...

Introducing the Lexus IS 500 Launch Edition

I doubt it will appreciate in value. the anniversary edition GSF and RCF did not. I have seen both on Autotrader with asking prices similar to the rest in their year

Introducing the Lexus IS 500 Launch Edition

This is certainly good news for those who love Lexus and higher performance cars. I am not sure I would go for the launch edition; the color does not really interest me, BBS wheels are nice (but who cares that they are 4 pounds lighter, it won't really make a difference), the interior is nice...

    The Lexus LC F Megathread

thanks for your responses. clearly you are a passionate RCF owner. like I said before, great car

    The Lexus LC F Megathread

Hi Faisal, I really like your post, thanks! I agree the the RCF is an excellent car and that it does what it is designed to do, plus it is extremely luxurious inside. I only mentioned the RCF in regards to the new LCF to say that the LCF should be lighter and have better suspension than the RCF...

    The Lexus LC F Megathread

its not that its bad, but its not as good in high speed corners as a 911, a C7 grand sport/ Z06, or M3/M4. Compared to these cars, the RCF (i am only aware of the 2018, not the 2019) rolls more in at high speeds in corners, it does not transfer weight as well when you have to brake at a high...

    The Lexus LC F Megathread

the 2017 corvette grand sport (and Z06) are 3500 lbs, and much much faster than the RC F and LC 500; granted they don't have any back seats, but lexus could make a much lighter one if they wanted. 991.1 and 991.3 Porsche 911s are less than 3400 (my 991.1 C2s was 3250 and it had a back seat; i...

    The Lexus LC F Megathread

it will be interesting to see what it's performance stats are. from my perspective, it must at least compete well with the 911 GT3. I imagine that it will cost at least as much, if not more. It has to be far lighter (3500 lbs max) and have much better suspension than the RC F, if will complete...

Lexus Develops New Twin-Turbo V8 Engine for “Future Sports Cars”

my bet is that Porsche will continue to make 911s in the same style. although they made the transmission in the 992 edition large enough to accommodate hybrid tech, the word is that they are not pursuing that, at least for the years to come. It will be interesting to see, however.

Lexus Develops New Twin-Turbo V8 Engine for “Future Sports Cars”

to add to Silver Arrows' post, the RC F track edition was a huge let down. That car is not a serious track car by any means and really did little, if anything, to improve the RC F. It just added to the price. Since I got my LC, I have moved on an now I own a 2018 911 GT3; I would like to see...

Lexus RC F Redline Reviews: Has Lexus Transformed the 2020 RC F Track Edition into Japan's BMW M4?

Matt Farah thinks the RC F Track Edition is a waste of money. Not at all a track car. I have never driven one, but I can tell you that I drive on tracks more than 35 days per year (these days) with many groups and many tracks, and rarely see a RC F. When I do, they never keep up to the 911s...

1st Generation Lexus RC 300, 350, F and Track Edition Megathread

I fully agree with you here. BTW: the Porsche 911 is known for significant understeer (engine in back); i bet it has a tendency to understeer more than the RC F. I don't know, but owning a 911 and driving it on the track the understeer is something that one must learn to manage in high speed...

1st Generation Lexus RC 300, 350, F and Track Edition Megathread

Nice car, fast, great sound, probably great for the road, but not really suited for the track (lots of understeer and eats tires). So, why call it a "track edition." Is it worth the extra $35,000 over the base RC F? With only 50 being produced, a few wealthy major Lexus enthusiasts will get...
