27.2.2019 Toyota noted the ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism that it will begin recall of 13k vehicles.
LS500, LS500h, IS300, IS300h, and IS350 manufactured between 23.8.2017 to 20.7.2018 will face recall due to problems with runflat tires. Connection between tire and axle is faulty and rubs tire which can lead to breaking of tire. There has been 24 incidents but no accidents.

I have the 2018 Lexus LS 500 F Sport and am planning to drive from AZ to CA, about 500 miles. My question is how dangerous is this run flat tire issue in a drive where I may be driving 70 to 75 mph? The LS 500 has about 6,500 miles and have had no issues yet.

I don't know that I'd risk it - that route involves a decent amount of desert, which probably doesn't help the problem and makes it worse if you do have a tire go flat. Interestingly my LS500 had "unusual tire wear" when it was in for the 5000 mile service but I haven't been dinged about this recall, just the ECU one.
