Nice Krew! This system will help with traffic jams for Lexus’s and Toyota’s in city areas , so I think others would be able to avoid problem area before listening to 1010 wins . Also this will be used by the police to track a vehicle across states for any reason legally. Nice !!!

actually this system can not track you, thats the point it, otherwise who would use it? It is used for vehicle-to-vehicle communications, directly between vehicles, it is not online, it does not upload data anywhere.

It is also used by VW and i think BMW too.

Yeah ,I was just checking into that and it can because the system works with gps and connections between signals relays, data to connect and correspond . I was only saying if they need to fine someone and they have the make and model of the car . We also have phones , once you have one your on the grid , even turn of your location doesn’t help because once you make or receive a call , you location would be around a phone tower . This system is a right step for Lexus .

no, there is no relay in V2V system that Toyota uses. It is direct Vehicle to Vehicle data.

Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) systems are able to broadcast data up to 300 meters, sharing its location, direction and speed, with nearby vehicles. Other DSRC-enabled vehicles will be able to use this information to avoid collisions, identify potential hazards, and map traffic patterns.

V2X that GM is using indeed does use cellular signal to upload its data, I think that is very problematic from privacy use, it is really just a law away from making that data accessible to the cops and then your every speeding incident becoming a ticket.
