very tough competition but it's great to see Lexus in the running with the best. The LS and LC are very strong entries. BTW: I like that picture of the LS. nice lines and low but long

The LC was also nominated for the World Car Design award along with the Performance one.
This is correct. I'd be very surprised if the LC loses this one. At this point, it's up against the Citroen C3 Aircross, Range Rover Velar, Renault Alpine A110 and Volvo XC60.

You're absolutely right -- I've updated the post with the World Car Design nominees.

I have my doubts that the LC will win the World Performance Car award. the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is consistently ranked at the top of its class and the Audi RS 5 Coupe also gets rave reviews. But I am confident it will win the World Car Design award. Quite frankly it's just outstanding that Lexus has cars that are finalists in all of these categories. This shows amazing progress!

the LS can actually take this one. It looks like even lexus fans underestimate lexus products

I have plenty of faith and high expectations in the LS and LC, but it's the judges and judging process I am not so sure about

To all of you that hate on this N/A V8. today this great LC is made by this engine for what it is

i actually prefer NA engines; i wholeheartedly agree that the engine has really substantially contributed to the LC's stature (greatness). I love the sound and its power. It's incredibly fun to drive. But the LC is great not just because of the engine; there are many other features of the LC that make it great.

i would love to hear your impressions comparing LS500 and LC500.

Next Thursday I will check out a few LS500s of different trims at a reveal at my local dealer. I am hoping to get a chance to drive an F-sport car, but since these are cars from Corporate, I doubt I can drive one then. But, they are really trying to sell me one, so perhaps that opportunity will come soon. I've watched plenty of videos of the LS500, but videos don't do justice. I will let you know.

BTW: as you know Porsche put turbos in all of their 2017 911 (991.2) models; they don't quite match the gutteral sound of the NA engine in the 991.1 models (with sport exhaust), but they are pretty close. I am very curious about the sound and feel of the new LS500

Naturally aspirated ie no turbo
What does NA engine mean?

NA = naturally aspirated (the traditional engine) compared with turbo charged or supercharged engine; NA engines sound way better and accelerate differently (more linearly). Turbos usually have a lag when you press the gas because they need to get the turbos spinning which forces more gas into the cylinder. NA engines usually have peak torque at higher rpms, compared with a turbo; you don't need as much displacement in a turbo to get the same power as a NA. they use less gas, therefore have lower emissions which helps the engine meet EPA standards. But NA engines sound much more gutteral. The LC and the F cars (RCF and GSF and ISF) all have the same NA 5 L 470 hp engine; they really sound sweet, but they can't go as fast as a turbo charged engine

One of the LS500s at the LS Reveal at Tom Wood Lexus in Indianapolis. LOOK AT THIS CAR! they did just a fantastic job presenting these cars. It was a class act evening. I didn't get to hear the engine (the two there were actually hybrids), but these cars are stunning and sitting in them was a treat. Great job Tom Wood Lexus!
