No shortage of drama there...
I've heard and read some different things over the years stating that most of the other luxury brands use leather that is truly dyed - through multiple stages - but that Lexus leather (and Toyota, too) is actually painted on the surface, which gives it a waxier feel vs. the open pore, raw feeling of most of the cow hide found in Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc.
Anyone have insight on this?
