An unlikely move that would signal a drastic change in strategy for the brand.

India has far worse manufacturing infrastructures than China. If Lexus deemed it unacceptable to manufacture its cars in China, it's even less comprehensible if Lexus decides to put its logo on cars made in India instead. Don't even think about it Lexus!

I don't think this is credible whatsoever. India's manufacturing is completely lackluster compared to China where they have already leveraged their know how thanks to the German and French automakers (BMW, Benz, Audi, VW, etc). If Lexus was concerned about quality when outsourcing it to China, what make them think that India is a viable option? There was public backlash against Lexus when Chinese consumers learned Lexus may manufacture locally to avoid high tariffs and import duties. They will gladly pay that premium because they know they aren't buying "cheaper" stuff from the German 3.

You would be surprised. Lets not forget that India manages to build better quality roads than the UK or USA in less than half the time. They're building about 25 miles a night. Manpower is absolutely massive and if trained well, I can see it being a huge success.

Lexus isn't stupid, it probably did a lot of research into the whole situation than sitting behind a computer screen reading about it.
