I actually consider issuing a recall before it becomes widely known and just getting it fixed to be a positive for reliability. Remember the 1989 LS recall for the cruise control: Lexus being proactive on that (and providing an early demonstration of what we now take for granted as the Lexus dealer service experience) actually helped to build their reputation.

Kevin just toured the sophisticated Georgetown, Kentucky plant expansion that builds the ES. Camrys have been built there for well over 25 years. As a Kentuckian, I will be very interested in his perceptions ...
