2025-2027 Lexus EV Product Roadmap

Updates around Lexus’ plans for future electric vehicles have been sparse but if a new, unverified report from China is credible, we may now have a clearer look at what to expect over the next two years. The report shows the following timeline with associated model launches:

  • 2025: BEV ES sedan
  • Mid-2026: Large BEV SUV (TZ?)
  • 2027: “Next generation BEV SUV” (ZL?)
  • Mid-2027: “Next generation BEV coupe” (RC + LC successor?)

2025: BEV ES

This photo has been cropped and lightened from the photo above.

This is no surprise as earlier trademarks showed Lexus preparing an ES 350e and ES 500e for introduction later this year. While we expect improvements over the RZ’s range and power figures, as well as a substantial interior and exterior update, we’ll have to wait for more information as Lexus prepares the next generation ES.

Mid-2026: Large BEV SUV

Lexus recently trademarked “TZ” which if it’s anything like the relationship between the RX and TX, “TZ” would be a larger, three-row sibling to the RZ. This would be the logical assumption for a larger BEV SUV coming in the next 18 months.

2027: Next Generation BEV SUV

We’re less sure of what to expect from a “next generation” BEV SUV. Lexus has been clear that the LF-ZL concept represents their vision for an upcoming flagship vehicle, and a two year timeline to introduction seems reasonable after being introduced in 2023 at the Japan Mobility Show. However this certainly could be a different SUV as well — perhaps a true BEV version of the popular RX or NX? We’ll have to wait and see.

Mid-2027: Next-generation BEV Coupe

This one feels a bit harder to predict, and rightfully so as it’s 2+ years away with no obvious concept vehicle to preview such a model. Could it be a production version of the Electrified Sports Concept or something different? As rumors persist about one coupe replacement for the RC and LC coupes, perhaps this would be such a model?

Whether the timing of these vehicles is accurate or if our predictions are correct, Lexus Enthusiast will share more information as it becomes available.
