Lexus Trademarks RZ 350e, RZ 500e, and RZ 550e


The Lexus RZ lineup might soon change — or expand — with new models if trademarks are an indication of Lexus’ future plans. The existing RZ 300e and RZ 450e could be joined by several new models: RZ 350e, RZ 500e, RZ 550e, and even RZ F.

While it’s common for automakers to trademark models names they don’t ultimately use for production, the prospect of higher performance RZ500e or RZ550e models already has us excited for more power and range in Lexus’ first dedicated BEV.

Lexus has been outspoken about advances in BEV technology, so is it possible that the RZ 300e and RZ 450e might be replaced with newer models instead of joined by new ones? Yes. We won’t know until Lexus makes an official announcement, but it’s plausible that the RZ 300e could be replaced by the RZ 350e, and the RZ 450e could be replaced by an RZ 500e or RZ 550e.

Lexus’ current naming conventions for “500” and “550” models ranges from 349 to 472 horsepower, so we’ll refrain from making guesses about what specs for these new RZs could be like. There’s also the possibility that power ratings for internal combustion, hybrid, and EV models could lead to different naming conventions, so we just won’t know until Lexus shares official information.

My guess is that the RZ300e will become the RZ350e and the RZ450e will become the RZ500e when the improved batteries come into play.

Not sure what the RZ550e would be.

I'm with you. I think these will be replacement models with new batteries. If Lexus can get an RZ 500e or 550e to 400+ horsepower and 350 miles of range, that would be pretty awesome... especially with DIRECT4 :devilish:

I want the new steering wheel tech they’ve got.

Drop in battery improvements into the platform plus software improvements make Lexus BEV more unpredictable and have more potential than their prior ICE offerings.

Here's the slide from Aisin's shareholders meeting. In 2025 they will have 4 2nd gen eAxle. They claim 10% better efficiency vs. Gen 1.

The small size is already listed on the Blue Nexus website and is rated at 120kW/2500N.m(output torque). Replaces the 80kW/2200N.m 1YM eAxle.

The high efficiency medium model will replace the 150kW/3500N.m 1XM. My guess is 160-180kW. It looks a bit tall so likely for FWD only.

The high power large model has a 2-speed AT. It has been listed on Blue Nexus website for a while but the specs are unknown. "2x more powerful than competitors" can mean anywhere between 250kW and 600kW.

My guess is 350e = 180kW medium FWD
550e = 300kW medium + small eAWD
500e = 270kW large RWD
F = 450kW medium + large eAWD
