Next-Generation NX Crossover to Debut Next Year?

Industry source Just Auto is reporting that the next-generation Lexus NX will debut next year:

The follow up to the NX is due to enter production at Toyota Motor Kyushu’s Miyata plant next July. Its architecture will be GA-C. There should again be four-cylinder gasoline and gasoline-electric powertrains, as well as front- and all-wheel drive variants.

Toyota will build the second generation model in Canada too, the company stated in April.

(It’s also a distinct possibility that the next-generation NX may be the brand’s very first plug-in hybrid.)

This report is incorrect, going off of old information.

They also have a tendency to covertly rely on me as a primary source, particularly dating back to old info from 2016-17. I DON'T WORK FOR LEXUS!

I announced NX Canadian production in 2017 and have been proven right in 2019, but the information came from way back and is jumbled.

I said GA-C back then, but clearly it is GA-K. This vehicle is CY 2021. They have access to the same industry information I do, so how do they arrive at my old news? Sighs🙄

Even if I know it will be on GA-K, I still worried as I got less faith on Lexus top guys, the real question is what will happen if they really make it on GA-C instead of GA-K !

Soon we should get the plug in hybrid NX which will be awesome. Curious as to what Lexus will call it...NX 300ph?

I have an announcement to make.

To further elaborate on what I previously refused to mention and withheld from disclosure last year:

The all-new 2022 Lexus NX will go on sale during the autumn of 2021, wearing an extremely avantgarde design.

It will reintroduce APGS in the form of remote operated parking.

"NX Prime" will be introduced via 2.5L THS PHEV variant with a 30-40 mile range.

4-5 powertrains will be offered in total.

As I also reported in 2017 (differing dates), Canadian production will begin in CY2022, for MY 2023.

A new 14 inch touchscreen will sport a next generation Lexus infotainment system, In-Car-Entertainment.

GPS Navigation will have a cloud-based setup, will have up to 20 inch wheels in F Sport grade and will of course, ride on GA-K.

We are 20 months out.

You are talking about a dream here
Again the main differentiation shall be Agility & way to drive , not fit & finish

Toyota to Lexus if Toyota corp wants to succeed shall be
Mercury to Lincoln or
Buick to Cadillac

Fit and finish, combined with anemic engine options is one of the things that makes me lean RX vs NX. If the next NX is a killer, great design, decent engine performance, and a really good interior (even at a cost), that might be an option.

It must be from the top fit & finish

What I am saying here is as follow

Toyota shall not decreases it's fit & finish quality in order to make Lexus fit & finish looks good

Toyota must increase it's fit & finish quality to even Lexus standards and make Lexus increases even more

Fall 2021 is a year further than expected making the current NX on a longish 7-year cycle.

Speculation on the 4-5 powertrain options?

2L N/A ICE Direct Shift CVT (i.e. UX, Corolla, etc)
2L T ICE 8-speed (or new 10-speed would be nice) (i.e. current engine carried over with minor refinements/bump in power)
2.5 L Hybrid CVT (i.e. RAV 4, Camry, ES, etc)
2.5 L PHEV CVT (i.e. RAV 4 PHEV)

other?
