The 2019 Lexus UX has been upgraded to a Top Safety Pick+ ranking by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety after making changes to the model’s optional headlights.
The curve-adaptive LED projector headlights available as an option on some UX models were adjusted in June of this year in order to qualify for the prestigious safety award.
The model also earned good ratings in all six crashworthiness tests: driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests, and the passenger-side small overlap front test. The front crash prevention system included with the Lexus Safety System + was rated as superior.
