Lexus LF-1 Limitless Crossover on Display at DesignMiami/ Conference

Lexus is displaying the LF-1 Limitless crossover concept as part of their sponsorship of the DesignMiami/ conference, and the installation sounds appropriately complex:

The LF-1 Limitless will be displayed with a mixed reality installation, an evolution of the projection mapping designed by Japanese architect Socha Ichikawa of dNA (doubleNegatives Architecture / hclab). Ichikawa believes architecture’s potential is restricted by conventional methods of measuring space.

By programming computers to interpret space from an omni-directional perspective, he frees his imagination to explore new dimensions.

A video has also been released, showing the LF-1 Limitless being carved from liquid:

I think it maybe true as this 600+ CUV is the same engine we will see inside the LSF & LCF
Assuming this isn't a completely baseless rumor, it sounds like a winner. I don't think Lexus can really compete in the c63/m3 or e63/m5 segments very well because those cars have too much heritage and badge prestige behind them but the premium high performance SUV segment is still pretty new and a product like this could make a pretty big splash.
Definitely excited for this :D

european me will say 500 is fast enough, but I guess gotta do 620-640hp version for the mags and lucky few in the USA where this costs $150k and not $300k like in most of Europe with crazy taxes.
Having 3 halo cars for this engine makes it far more palatable as a business case, too.
Would be an awesome wagon if they fixed the ride height and gave it a less rounded cargo hold. Who am I kidding? My opinion doesn't matter because I can't afford one.
Such good news. A great market to enter.

F all the things!!
Lexus needs this car now not in 2020!
Honestly if the production LQ-F have at least 80% from the LF-1 limitless with this 600+ hp I will take it anyday over the Urus
Finally a good reason for me to wait on this instead of buying a Q8.

The wait can take a very long time. But it is worth it.
I really love that render, too. I hope the production model is close to that!
been working for lexus for a while now......all i see is rumors, a lot of marketing, some disappointments and no overly positive results... :-( still hoping though....
Finally Lexus leads instead of following. A fabulous car, but they want to make sure it isn’t too pricey.
I think an estimate of $150k for LQ F is a little unrealistic. If the base LQ is priced somewhere around $85k (in between the other flagships, LS, LX and LC), I cannot fathom why an F model would cost nearly double. IMO, base of $85k is even a little high for a car like this... the sweet spot would be something around $75k base because it creates a logical "step up" from upper end RX and GX, can catch fleeing GS owners and opens up a whole new demographic for Lexus: Range Rover Sport, Cayenne, X5/X6, Mercedes GLE43/GLE43 Coupe, Maserati Levante and others. $85k is a lot of cash and $10k+ more than the base for those competitors. This car still needs to have a volume business case behind it, plus Lexus' recent forays into the realm of $75k+ have not been particularly fruitful.

I don't see why the F model should start at more than $115-120k. After all, this is Lexus and they are a practical company.

Dropping the GS, replacing the SC with the RC, and the GX going on ten years unchanged impacts the middle tier of Lexus' lineup... and you start to lose the ability to graduate consumers from that tier upwards. A lot of them will have already left, meaning Lexus needs to attract a net-new customer at this price point. There is a huge gap between $40k ES and $75k LS, and similarly, there would be a huge gap between $44k RX and $85k LQ.
This is going to be a smash hit. This answers alot of questions....

1) we know the 3.5 liter TTV6 will be getting a boost and also the TTV8 will have at least 660hp.
2) we now no that the base LS or any base car for that matter will have a V8 it will only be offered in the F varients.

The price does seem high, but this is likely down to the Japanese source and the difference in country's MSRP. Your price seems about right to me. Can't see Lexus going all the way to $150k, even with 660 horsepower.
Are you guys so sure F model will be non-hybrid?

no.

If it is going to be LS CUV, then it will start at least 5k over LS. It is not going to be cheaper.

What you will see on the other end is that RX and future GX will likely start getting even higher trims and engines and prices in the future.
Or maybe they make sportier version of RX like Audi did Q8. Or maybe new GX will become that in-between model, properly.

I know that my words seems unlogic, but business wise the 140k - 150k is the right choice, already the normal and hybrid models from both LC & LS can reach the +100k,
plus it will match the offers not from Lambos , Porsche, AMG & M in even cheaper prices with the 3 flagship Fs will match with them in performance or maybe better,
also I think who ever have 120+k for a vehicle can already pay 140k to 150k,
another thing, I feel we will see GQ very soon maybe just the year after the LQ as the crossover RWD based , with the same relation between it and the GX as the LQ & the LX , as suffix Q is only for the L & G

There's nothing certain yet. I haven't seen anything official on a production model.
I don't know, its not hard to see where the LQ F could fall in price.

MB GLE Coupe 63 AMG - $112k
MB GLS 63 AMG - $127k
MB G Wagon 63 AMG - $143k

I don't think 150k is realistic for the LQ F

Probably closer to 120k-125k max base price.
With the current ancient chassis LX can reach more than 100k the difference in price will be very little from the 100k/380hp/BOF to 125k/600+hp/sporty_RWD
