Lexus LS: Fourth Generation

Video: Designing the Lexus LS Art Wood Trim

Lexus LS Art Wood Trim

The fifth-generation Lexus LS will be available with a new trim that merges different wood patterns together into a single sheet:

From the press release:

Art Wood Organic is inspired by a blazing fire and took more than a year’s work to define. By layering the wood and applying a natural gloss coating to enhance the vibrancy of the grain, an impression of flickering flames is produced.

The wood is sustainably and responsibly sourced from the Agathis tree, a species native to Southeast Asia. Thin veneer sheets are stacked in multiple layers and then precision-sliced across the grain by the Takumi to produce the ultimate pattern.

Refreshing original detail that wreaks luxury!
Really amazing --- I mean the craftsmanship and the visual cues . It does take LS to the next level. And the video is great too.
Awesome interior, but am I the only one to notice the different placement of the memory seat buttons in the picture and in the video? I much prefer the former.

Pretty sure the video is pure CGI, and it's probably based on older prototype.

Maybe?

It is stunning in person.... nothing else like it
To me it looks less like flickering flames and more like a painting of ripples in water. But it looks amazing regardless of what you Rorschach out of it.
